NOVF.I~BER 19,, 1957 - PAGE 2. <br />Mr. Schwenk reported regarding the revision of Ordinance No. 1970 to clarify <br />Section 5 as to rates being paid for the rental of North Olmsted Community <br />House, and had drawn up a section that could be added as sub-section b of <br />Section 5 entitled, "Definitions". The Solicitor voiced his ob3ections to <br />any change. in the ordinance. It was referred back to the committee for further <br />study. <br />Mr. Nettles from the audience asked whether or not the matter of assessments <br />for sewers, etc., on a valuation basis would be deductible from Federal <br />Income taxes. The Solicitor is to check on this. <br />Mr. Decker read a communication from Berea Community Hospital requesting <br />the appointment of a delegate to the annual conference of the Hospital <br />on Monday, January 20th, at 8s00 P.M. Inasmuch as Mr. Kramer had been the <br />delegate from North Olmsted, Mr. Decker therefore reappointed Mr. Kramer <br />North Olmsted delegate. <br />Mr. Decker read a letter of resignation from Mzs. Ruth Helt from the North <br />Olmsted Library Advisory Board. A motion was made by Mr. Schwenk, seconded <br />by Mr. Porter, that the resignation of Mrs. Helt be accepted. "Yeas"' Baker, <br />Crider, Kramer, MacDonald, Neubauer, Porter, Schwenk. <br />Mr. Decker appointed Mrs. Wilma B. Lewis to the North Olmsted Library Advisory <br />Board to fill Mrs. Helt's unexpired term. A motion was made by Mr. Kramer, <br />seconded by Mr. Baker, the appointment be approved. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, <br />Kramer, MacDonald, Neubauer, Porter, Schwenk, <br />Mr. Decker proclaimed November 24th "Traffic Safety Sunday" in the City of <br />North Olmsted. <br />Ordinance No. 2587 was introduced by Mr. Baker. An ordinance establishing <br />a volunteer Firemen's Dependents Fund Board and providing for the election <br />of the members of such board with provisions to administer the fund in <br />accordance with sections 3310,01 to 3310.24 inclusive of the Revised Code <br />of Ohio. It was moved by Mr. Baker, seconded by Mr. Schwenk, that the <br />statutory rule be suspended and the ordinance be read immediately the second <br />and third times and put on its passage. The affirmative vote on said motion <br />was as follows: Baker, Crider, Kramer, MacDonald, Neubauer, Porter, Schwenk, <br />Thereupon, the ordinance was read the second and third times and put upon <br />its passage and the affirmative vote thereon was as follows: Baker, Crider, <br />Kramer, MacDonald, Neubauer, Porter, Schwenk. <br />Nominations to the Local Board of the Volunteer Firemen's Dependents Fund <br />were opened. Mr. Kramer nominated Mr. Porter and Mr. Schwenk. Motion was <br />made and seconded that nominations be closed and the Clerk cast a unanimous <br />vote. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Kramer, MacDonald, Neubauer, Porter, Schwenk. <br />The Engineer stated the petition for sidewalks on Gessner Road, both sides, <br />from Lorain to Walter Road is now sufficient. The estimated cost for this <br />portion is X22,000,00. <br />It was moved by Mr. Crider, seconded by Mr. Baker the Engineer be instructed <br />to prepare plans and specifications for Gessner Road Sidewalk, from Lorain <br />Road to Walter Road. <br />Resolution No. 2588 was introduced by Mr. Crider. A resolution declaring <br />it necessary to improve Gessner Road from Lorain Road to Walter Road, by <br />constructing and installing a five foot concrete public side•,~ralk on both <br />sides thereof. It was moved by Mr. Crider, seconded by Mr. MacDonald that <br />the statutory rule be suspended and the resolution be read immediately the <br />second and third times and put on its passage. The affirmative vote on <br />said motion was as follows: Baker, Crider, Kramer, MacDonald, Neubauer, <br />Porter, Schwenk.
