S <br />h <br />July 19, 1966 - Page 2 <br />large amounts of backfill will be required. In many instances the existing <br />driveways are well below the level of the 5idewalks, and will have to be <br />replaced. <br />Mr. Ted Boczek, 4240 Dover Center, states that the driveway existing was based <br />on the road level at the time there was no curb, and asked about the ditch <br />after they fill. <br />Mr. Ed Blake, 4737 Dover Center, asked whether water would not back up to the <br />houses if they fill the lot$ up to the level of fihe sjdewalks. He also stated <br />that ten years agp when his drive was put in, fihey were told to put the drive <br />two inches above the existing road. <br />Mr. John Patrick, 4717 Dover Center, commented that the problem is not drainags <br />from the sidewalk to the curb, but from the sidewalks to the homes, where water <br />will gather and go inta basemEnfis. <br />Mr. Aquiello Vega, 4510 Dover Center, stated he was holding off on his sidewalk <br />installation because he felt a mistake must have been made on his neighbor's, <br />it was so high. <br />The President Pro Tem requested that the Municipal Development Committee work <br />with the City Engineer pn the drainage and etevafiion problems involved in this <br />sidewalk, and try and work out some agreement. <br />Mrs. Nick Calvitti, 23844 Lorain Road, stated the opposition of the men doing <br />business on Lorain betwpen Columbia and Clague to the proposed parking ban on <br />Lorain, it being her feeling that they would be severely hurfi by such a ban. <br />Mr. Cliff Lester, doing business at 23820 Lorain, asked what recourse they would <br />have if the parking ban did not work out and how they could petition to change <br />it back. <br />Mr. Ed McCullough, 23812 Lorain stated that he would surely lose business with <br />such a ban. Although he has a rear parking area, it is boxed in by two business <br />buildings, and customers are reluctant to use i#. <br />Mr. James Kilroy, 3640 West 232nd, stated he felt that consideration should be <br />given to people who have businesses atong Lorain. He pointed out that Fairview <br />and ClevEland do not ban parking on Lorain. <br />Mrs. Calvitti stated that the traffic problem originates at Brookpark and wesfi <br />of there on Lorain, not at the area from Columbia to Clague. <br />Mr. Ed Biddle, president of the corporation which owns the building in which the <br />Calvittis do business, asked about installing parking meters to discourage people <br />from parking all day in front of the business buildings. <br />Mr. Charles Payne, 4303 Root Road, asked about the width of Proposed State Route <br /> <br />
