Based on the Engineer's computation, the average size necessary furV thi.s
portion is 18" diameter, rather than the 21" present average size, and that
their assessments be lowered to reflect this.
2. The house connections be removed from the front foot assessments, and be
assessed separately only where applicable.
3> The catch basin costs be removed from the assessment and inciuded in thE:
paving assessment in the near future.
Present plans are to be revised showing manholes installed on the north sidf:
of Southern, at the intersections with Porter and Burns. These will serve -fihe
north side drainage area, and costs will be assessed equitably at the- time
when southern portions of Porter and Burns are improved per City standardse
He submitted a form letter he would like sent to the affected storm sewer a-ea
residents, regarding the paving programming.
Mr. Caster reported that his committee recommends and will request legislation
for accepting the equalization board's report, to be on an emergency basis;
an ordinance to proceed with construction of sanitary sewer connections and a
water main for Southern Avenue Subdivision, also emergency; and revision of
Ordinance 65-278 to reflect the cost of the inlet basins removed from the
storm sewer assessments.
They recommended that the Engineer negotiate with the developer of Columbia
Estates for certain deficiencies, which has been done, so they will ask for
legislation for dedication.
The Committee will also ask for legislation accepting the improvement pians for
Sands Subdivision.
