December 7, 1965 - Page 2 <br />Allilk __Mr. Foltz, Chairman of the Legislative Committee, reported fihey met on <br />November 24th with Mr. Hebebrand from the Board of Building Gode Appeals <br />for a discussion of the additions to the National Swimming Pool Institute <br />Standards for Residential Pools, which had been recommended by the Board. <br />The Legislative Committee also discussed whether or not the ordinance <br />assoclated with sound amplifying devices should remain as written, and <br />declded that it shouid. They further concluded that political organiza- <br />tions would not come under the classification of charitable organizations. <br />It was requested that the Clerk of uouncil forward this information to <br />the Mayor ln writing. <br />Mr. Limpert, Chairman of the Transportation Committei? reported they met <br />and discussed the after-hours use of student passes, with written permisslon <br />slips. It was decided to dispense with the written notes and extend the <br />hours when the passes would be honored to 7:00 P.M., at which time it was <br />felt most of the students are well on their way home. The Safety-Service <br />Director was asked to write letters to each of the schools expfaining the <br />change and the reasons for it. <br />The Transportation Committee upon hearing of the three buses which were <br />available in Detroit authorized the Safety-Service Director to investigate <br />the matter. They recomnend thafi the matter be referred to the Finance <br />Committee for consideration, after receipt of the Safety-Service Director'S <br />report on the investigation. <br />Mr. Limpert also advised that the Safiety Award Dinner for the bus drivers <br />will be coming up in February, and asked that the Finance Committee consider <br />authorizing the same amount of money as in previous years for the dinner. <br />The uhairman of the Transportation Commlttee further reported that revamping <br />of the management set-up on the bus line i5 under consideration, by the <br />creation of the position of general manager, to oversee operations both <br />of the drivers and schedules and the bus garage. This is not yet finai. <br />Mr. Leonard, Chairman of the Public Utilities Committee, reported they met <br />on November 22nd with the residents who are interested in procuring a <br />franchise for CATV in North Olmsted. It was the committee's conclusion <br />that they ask for legislation providing such a franchise. The Law Director <br />1s meetinq wifih the principals to iron out some of the recomnendations <br />made at the meeting, and the committee is awaiting the legislation. <br />Mr. West, Chairman of the Finance Committee, reported that his committee <br />met on December 2nd, and considered a number of subjects. <br />They considered the balance of appropriations for 1965, and the transfer of <br />appropriations from some categories to others where needed. The ordinance <br />is on the agenda. <br />They recommend and will ask far legislation authorizing the advertising for <br />bids for a pick-up truck for the sewage plant, for tires and tubes for 1966
