% # <br />November 16, 1965 - Page 2 <br />The Committee also discussed East Park Subdivision, which is five lots on <br />North Park Drive. The Law Director has ruled that requirearents for a storm <br />sewer can be waived, since such installation at this time would have no <br />outlet. There is tile running across North Park Drive now into which storm <br />water can be collected, <br />The Committee also discussed the installation of sidewalks on Midvale, which <br />is now under way. It is the opinion of the Law Director that the City could <br />pick up the tab for this, or in the f uture could go back and assess the cost, <br />At the present, the City fs willing to pay the cost, <br />Mr. West, Chairman of the Finance Committee, met on November 9th with all <br />committee members, the Finance DireCtor and the Mayor to discuss the County <br />valuatfon for tax purposes. For 1966 the County has set a tax valuation of <br />something over $73,000,000, whereas the City budget was set up on an estimated <br />valuation of $76,000,000. The Committee is recommending that Council reduce the <br />request for funds so that the tax rate will be held at the present level of <br />11,4 mills, The reduction of $30,000 from the budget will be f rom the General <br />Fund, <br />The Finance Committee also voted to approve funds for the Health Service Contract <br />for 1966 at a cost of $12,073, <br />Mr. Mangani, Chairman af City Planning Committee, reported on their meeting af <br />November 9th, The Committee recommends approval of the Karl Keisel Subdivision <br />which is four sublots between Butternut Ridge and Carey Lane, <br />They also recommend approval of the Regional Planning Commission's Transportation- <br />Land Use study, and have requested legislation. <br />Passage of the Westerly Towers hi-rise ordinance, No, 65-177 which has had a <br />public hearing is also recommended by the Committee. <br />Mr, Mangani, Chairman of the Public Parks and Recreation Committee, advised that <br />the Safety-Service Director has reque'sted two appraisals for the lot on Summerland <br />which was purchased by the City for a sanitary sewer easement, and he will request <br />legislation authorizing the advertising for bids for this property, <br />Mr, G. E. Nysewander, 5337 Hampton Drive, read a letter addressed to the Mayor <br />and Council relative to a request from Televue Corp, for a franc?ise for providing <br />expanded television facilities to the residents of North Olmsted, He also <br />submitted two sample ordinances and requested that Couricil study the matter. <br />It was referred to the Public Utilities Committee. <br />Mr, Kanareff advised that he has plans drawn for the force main in Sandy Ridge <br />and that the lift station in that area is now under construction, Mr. Caster <br />asked that the records show receipt of the plans by Council. <br />Ordinance No. 65-177 was given its third reading and read in f ull.
