They are also presenting a resolutfon to be passed by Council suthorizing <br />the County Auditor to levy the necessary taxes in 1965, Mr, West pofnted out <br />that the tax rate for the City of North Olmsted will go down from 11.6 mills <br />in 1964 to 11.4 mills in 1965. He also pointed out that the difference in <br />what the City is getting in the General Fund in 1965 as compared to 1964 is <br />only $34,000 more, and that the local government fund so far allocated is <br />only $122,000 as compared to $144,000 we received last year> <br />The Committee also discussed pay raises for the bus mechanics. Mr. West pointed <br />out that the Finance Committee has received more requests for additional personnel <br />and pay raises than the City can possibly afford, <br />Mr. Mangani, Chairman of City Planning Committee reported meeting on Monday <br />night with principals of the Great Northern. Shopping Center, Mr. Biskind, Mr. <br />Shur, Mr. Milstein and Mr, Hemlock, They presented plans for a$6,000,000 <br />hi-rise apartment development next to Great Northern Shopping Center, providing <br />for two sixteen-story hi-rise apartment buildings (possibly eighteen-story). <br />The sixteen-story buildings wauld have 251 suites each, 128 with one bedroom, <br />92 with two bedrooms and 31 with three bedrooms. It would be built on ten <br />acree at the'southeast'corner of Great Nortnern Boulevard and Brookpark, of <br />toncrete and concrete slab constructbR. Parking for one-third of the cars would <br />be provideFY underground, Members of Councs.l have been invited by Mr. Milstein <br />to view Aorizon House in Euclid to inspect a similar structure he is building. <br />Mr. Mangani also reported receiving a letter from the North Olmsted School <br />Superintendent regarding property on Dover Center Road, The School Board pur- <br />4D a parcel, gnd the City purchased a parcei adjacent to it. The School <br />Board now wishes title to the City's parcel9 and is willing to spend $15,000 <br />to develop and equip a pl$yground area. Tfie Committee has set up a meeting <br />with the School Board on Monday, February 1 at 8:00 to go over plans as to <br />how the area is to be utilized and to make sure the City will retain control <br />of the property. This is in keeping with plans worked out by the Site Committee <br />for combined use of recreation and school areas, <br />The City Planning Committee recommends rezonfng of four sublots on Delmere to <br />two-f amily use, and will move to amend pending legislation by changing the <br />legal description. <br />The proposed plans for hi-rfse on Lorain (Mr. Nudelman) were sent back with <br />the idea of rezoning the entire parcel. However, it has been found that in <br />this case, nothing but hf-rise could be put on the parcel, so the Planning <br />Commission is being asked to disregard the request for rezoning of the entire <br />area, and to confine rezoning to the buflding site only. Mr. Mangani wi11 <br />be at the next Planning Commissfon meetfng to discuss thfs with them. <br />Deerpath #4 is being sent back to the Planning Commissione The Committee had <br />several questions and objections to Bloek A and Block B as shown on the plans, <br />Mr. Mangani announced the Public Parks9 Property and Recreation Committee will <br />meet Thursday, January 21st, for a dfscussion of the use and rental of the <br />Community Cabin, and a meeting with the Exchange Club an their baseball program. <br />Mr. Mangani also reported the North Olmsted Canteen has $3,000 to spend on <br />tennis courts or some other recreatfon facilities, and has requested suggestions <br />f rom the C ity,
