<br />Ordinance No, 68-28 was introduced by Mro West. An Ordinance to pr0vide
<br />for the ussuance of a note in anticipation of the issuance of bonds for the
<br />purpose of acquiring real estate for recreationai purposes9 and declaring
<br />an emecgency. Mr. West moved for the suspensoon of the rule requiring
<br />three separate readings, seconded by Mr. Castera Afformateve vote was
<br />Caster, Eian, Hodgins, Limpert, Miller9 Prokasy9 West, Mr. West then
<br />moved for the adoption of the ordinance, seconded by Mr. Caster. Affirma-
<br />tive vote was Caster, Eian, Hodgins, Limpert, Miller, Prokasy, West.
<br />Ordinance No. 68-29 was introduced by Mr. Caster. An Ordanance onstructing
<br />the Director of Public Serv'sce and Publsc Safety to direct the Cety Engineer
<br />to prepare plans and specifications in anticipation of installing sidewalks
<br />for the 1968 program for pover Center Road, from Lorain Road to Butternut
<br />Ridge Road, east side of road; Butternut Ridge Road, from Fitch Road to Colum-
<br />bsa Road9 south side of Road9 Esther Avenue, from Clague Road to City Limits,
<br />both sedes of street; Virginia Avenue, from Clague Road to C°sty Limits9 both
<br />sides of Street; Columbia Road, from Lorain Road to Gessner Roade west side
<br />of Road; Maple Ridge Road, from Columbia Road to Walter Road, south side of
<br />road; Theresa Lane, from Walter Road to 193 ft. west, both sedes of road;
<br />Root Road, from Lorain Road to 2820 ft: north, west side of Road; Canter-
<br />bury Road, from Butternut Ridge Road ta 1000 fto south, west side of road;
<br />Decker Road, Midvale to Lorain Road, both sides; South Barton Road, from

<br />Under old business, Mr. Eian consulted Law Director Kitchen about Ordinance
<br />No. 68-12, Traffoc Control File Ordinance.
<br />Mr. West commented on publicity North Olmsted has received on lower accident
<br />and crime rate. He does not feel this es a matter of luck, but because con-
<br />saderable money has been spent on traffic lights, left-turn lanes, and the
<br />diligence of the Safety-Servmce Director and Poloce Chief and hes force.
<br />He feels the City should be very proud of this lower crome rate.
<br />Mra West inquared about Southern Avenue paving. Mr. Caster sasd thes es in
<br />commattee to review costs. They had tentative assessment ready but costs
<br />have snGreased.
<br />Under new business, Mr. West asked Mayor about plans for Stearns Road Exten-
<br />sion through North Olmsted. The Mayor said right now there is preliminary
<br />4D work to be done, and then there will have to be a public hearing.
