Councol MonuteE lm16m68 -3m <br />Mr, Dewey Lampect9 of the Legislateve Committee, reported an the absence of Com- <br />mottee Chairman Clarence Miller. The LegaslatAVe Committee met on January lOth. <br />They have consGdeced request from Safety-Service Dsrector for ordonance pertain- <br />ong to coteng of cars parked on lawns for any length af timee at os not feasoble <br />to offer any ordenance for this purpose. They consadered organizational chart <br />for Enganeerang Department and their request for adding two add°etional enganeers. <br />Commettee approved, They have discussed equal housing at length and a resolutson <br />on residence opportunity is ready for this meeting. Mr. Limpert ment'soned he stoll <br />feels this as not necessary since this definetely does not seem to be one of Cety's <br />problems. Thas resolution will be put on first reading tonighx9 and this well then <br />gove resedents time to contact Councalmen about thesr feelangs 6n matter. <br />Mr. L,6mpert9 Chairman of Transportation Committee, reported that this committee had <br />met January 9th, He reviewed with Council the new time schedule of the High School <br />bus run. Schedule wull be distributed to various schools involved, <br />Mro West, chaarman of Finance Commottee, reported his committee wull ask for in- <br />crease of cash on hand for Bus Department; legislation to authorize Safety-Service <br />Dorector to advertese for bids for a service truck for Bus Department9 legislation <br />to change salary schedule, retroactive January lst; legoslation for Safety-Service <br />Darector to advertise for three new Police cars. Mr. West commented that the Library <br />has asked for projector and drapes for Projection Room of new Lobrary, but the com- <br />mettee feels this could well be contributed by some civic groupy so they will defer <br />theor decASOOn on this, hopang some civic group woll want to take this on as a pro- <br />jecto <br />Mr. West then gave his Budget presentatoon for 1968, explaining step-by-step the <br />1968 Budget and comparing it with the last four years. <br />The Clerk of Councal read letter dated January 9th from Dr. Roscoe D. Leas, Presi- <br />dent of Cuyahoga County District Board of Health to Mrs. Virginia Hodgins, on the <br />Safety, Health and Welfare Committee. <br />Pres°sdent of Council 0'Neill then formally recognized guests at Council: Girl <br />Scouts and Leaders, High School Students from the "Problems in Democracy" class <br />and women from the League of Women Voters. <br />Mr. Roger Alexander9 5091 Douglas Drive,'again spoke to Councii on problem of short <br />weaghting meat. He c°sted various incidents recently experienced. Mayor Christman, <br />sn response to Alexander°s complaints, told how he had carefully followed up on Mr. <br />A?exander's complaints of last Fall, checking various situatBons with Mr. Jack Pesch <br />of the County Department of Weights and Measures and County Inspectors A. Polk and <br />J. MacDonald, along with Safety-Service Director Del Limpert. In Mayor Chrestman's <br />apanson9 there does not seem to be any effort to intentionally short-weigh the cus- <br />tomer. Glen Williard, President of Rini's and a representative from Fisher's both <br />urged Councul and the general public to check their meat weights at any tame, and <br />vehemently denied Mr. Alexander's accusations. <br />Ordanance 67-286 was given its third reading. An Ordinance amending the Codified <br />Ord9nances of the City of North Olmsted, Chapter 155, entitled "Recreation Com- <br />m155Bon9Ba Section 155•01 entitled "Powers and Duties." Mr. Prokasy moved for <br />adoptoon, seconded by Mr. West. Affirmative vote was Caster, Hodgins, Limpert, <br />Prokasy, Weste <br />? ._
