In <br />summary, Mr. riyrice stated imn:.3iate steps shouid be taken bp the Adminis- <br />tration ta recondition the pavement af Stearns Road, install sidewalks on <br />the east side of the rosd a.-Ld get better mail delivery. <br />The Clerk then read a lettet irom Mr. John E. Adkins, 4581 Ashbury Park <br />Drive, addressed to Pxesident 0'Neill iaith s'eference to Ordinances No. 69- <br />220 and 69-22I. Mr. Adkins statecil.c? had atCended Public Aearing on the <br />siflu3ect ordinances and voiced his ot;;e-ctions then, an?d is writing to again <br />request Council to vote against the gi?nposed ordinances for the many reasons <br />given at the I'ublic Hearing, some of which he reiterated in his letter. <br />At this Citne President O'Neill sCatRci that on May 13, 1970, tcJeive Greater <br />Clevelanders were honored by Ford Motor Company for outstanding service to <br />their communities and Mrs. Hodgins rece3ved one of the Coauaunity Service <br />Awards. Mr. O'Neill said it was a pleasure to be there representing Ford <br />Motor Company and having one of our Officials receive? such an award for <br />the caork Mrs. Hodgins has dane in her comnnun3.ty. <br />People addressing Councii: <br />P1rs. Gladys Zipp, 29658 Lorain Road, questioned if Chuck's Lax,mmaler <br />Service had been checked into regarding sanitary facil±ties, etc. Mayor <br />Christman replied the Building Commissionar investig,ated and fouud he is <br />still doing as he was originally permitted to do - going out and picking <br />up lauramowers, repairing at the garage and returning same. Sanitary faci- <br />lities are in house right in front and at store across street. The Congnis- <br />sioner felt if restrictions which he originally put on the use of this garage <br />for repair are sti11 being followed that it would be a permitted use at the <br />spot. Mr. [Jest questirnsed difference as to this property. Discussion took <br />place between Mayor Christman, Mr. Idest, Mr. Limpert and rirs. Zipp regarding <br />the rental property, requirements laid docan by Buildiag Cammissioner as to <br />no advertising on the site, no delivery, etc. Mrs. 2ipp also staCed there <br />are two signs and wanted to know why this is allowed. *ir. tiaest suggested <br />Council to take a look at this property. rir. Prokasy comcnented the Ordinance <br />which was passed bannfng temporary signs is not in full enforcement yet. <br />The Building Cammissicnner's office is working on a plan which wi1Z eventuaily <br />eliminate the violations. <br />President O'Neill requested Mayor Christman to instruct the Building <br />Comciissioner to remove the temporary sign ot Jamestown Apartmeats at the <br />corner of Brookpark & Coltuabia Roads. Mr. O'Neill feels this sign is a <br />disgrace. Mayor Christa?an stated he believes there was a hearing on this <br />and a tetnporary use was granted, but he will check into status of same. <br />Mr. Frank Pinkham, 6595 Barton Raad, asked that the property to the rear <br />
