Public Hearing 4-27-70
Page -7-
Dover and Great Northern will be hurt because of bypassing.
Mr. West replied "Yes" it showed going over to Stearns Road in Scott's
proposal - extension of Stearns going North. Map was referred to.
Mr. E. Bloomfield, 4499 Dover Road asked if this is going to be a limited
access going through and if so, what about retail property.
Mr. West answered it is not going to be limited access.
Mr. R. Benedict, 4724 Dover Center, is opposed to this on bas!Sof traffic.
Right now during rush hour he cannot get out of his driveway. There is a
church, school and children trying to cross street, and feels he does not
need more traffic on Dover.
Mary Biemel, 4792 Dover Center, is opposed because she is going to be right
in front of intersection. Asked if there was anything fair about this. Felt
if she cannot voice her opinion at public hearing what can be done. President
0'Neill replied this is the purpose of the Public Hearing and assured her
Council will take into consideration her objection.
Mr. M. Dieterich, 26868 Kennedy Ridge, stated he understands Brookpark is
going to come south and go at a 90° angle on Lorain and continue across.
Developers are giving us the westerly part. Suggested giving us the easterly
part where it comes south of Lorain.
Mr. West replied that part of relocation of Brookpark will be taken care of by
developer of Great Northern Shopping Center, and present Brookpark will be torn
up and revert back to these people. Brookpark is located on an easement. The
State does not own the present location of Brookpark through the Shopping Center
and land will revert back to developers and they will relocate it at their expense.
Mr. J. Schmunk, 4609 Ashbury Park asked what plans are there to run a street
from the Extension into Ashbury Park.
Mr. West answered there are absolutely no plans now and no easements reserved.
Mr. Karhan stated there is a request for a sidewalk for going to St. Richards,
by some people.
Mr. N. Bennett, 3480 Archwood asked if there isn't a lot reserved for a street
opening going into Leenders; and who owns that lot - the developers?
Mr. Karhan replied the developers and at one time they planned on extending the
development down to the commercial land. with houses and they cut it off because
of the extension, but right now there is no plans for a roadway.
Mr. West questioned if this lot is not rezoned commercial and it is residential
what is access in there. Mr. Bennett stated traffic coming from this supposed
roadway, instead of going down Dover could cut through the heart of Pine Ridge
Development.
