Council Minutes 2-17-70 <br />Page -7- <br />Boehmer, Grady, Hodgins, Limpert, Prokasq, Speedling, West. <br />Under Old Business, Mr. Prokgsy stated in connection with Ordinances <br />Nos. 69-131 and 69-210, he would like to thank the Planning Connni.ssion, <br />CounCil, Design & Platting Comaittee, and so many people who have <br />contributed so much, attending council meetings, Public Hearings, etc. <br />Mr. Prokasy said he was happy that these Ordinances are finally passed. <br />Mrs. Hodgins stated in reference Co letter on air pollution of Mrs. <br />King, the Building Comnnissioner will help in connection with same. <br />Mrs. Hodgins also referred to Public Parkg Property & Recreation Com- <br />mittee's recommendatirna to the Fis?ance Committee - re - remodeling of <br />garage at City Hall. President 0'Nef 11 questioned as to whether there <br />is enough money. <br />Mrs. Hodgins then read part of minutes of February, 1969, from Recreation <br />Commis s ion . <br />Under New Busines8, Mr. We$t stated that with the appointment of a <br />Charter Review Contiission, it has brought to mind that the rules and <br />Committees set up of Council have nat been reviewed for a long tfine. <br />He sCated that there are certain axeas of action and emphas3s and Council <br />should be aware of these and work on them. Mr. taest suggested an Ai.r <br />Pollution Committee, because of strong feeling of importance of the <br />subject; also, he suggested an intra-governmental relations Ccmmittee, <br />stating there are federal grants, state moneys available, and we have <br />to go after them. Mr. [lest suggested that same comai.ttees could be <br />combined, such as Municipal Development and Design & Platting, leaving <br />a committee free to work in other areas. The Legislatian Commf ttee <br />could be disbanded and replaced with Intra-Government Relations Cammittee. <br />In view of this, Mr. tJest stated he wauld like to move that Council act <br />as a Committee of the Whole with President 0'Neill as Chairman, and <br />suggested Council meet to review and discuss and make any recommendations <br />and changes. <br />President 0'Neill stated Council will be notified of the date and time <br />of ineeting. <br />At this t3.me Mr. West stated in reference to remarks made in his budget <br />presentation on February 3rd, pertaining to the $5.00 license tax money, <br />a meeting was held with Mr. Vannice, County Engineer, Mayor Christmaa <br />and Mr. West, at which time the County Engineer was kind enough to explain <br />the License Tax Program and what projects caere under coneideration, one of <br />which includes the paving of Clague Road. <br />Mr. Limpert stated that the Fiaance Corie-ttee will meet on February 28th, <br />at 9:00 a.m., w3th the Police aad Fire Connnittees. <br />
