Report of Police Departmeat was read by the Msyor <br />in which it was ststed there was a total of seveateen accidents during <br />the period fron Jsjnuary 1, 1965 to December 31, 1969. Of that total <br />one accident involved a personal injury, when a pedestrian crossed <br />Lorain Road against the light to catch a bus; ten invalved violation <br />of assured clear distance; four involved violation of right-of-way; <br />one made left turn froai the west on Lorafn onto Berkshire and ran <br />into median, and one iYrvolved vehicle pulling out of Berkshire to make <br />left turn agaiast red traffic signal. <br />Mr. Prokasy reiterated that the Public Hearing had been set for <br />February Sth regardi.ng Ordinaaces 69-131 and 69-210. <br />? President of Council then introduced the new members o€ Council; Mr. <br />Bcehmer, Ward l, Mr. Grady, taard 4, and Mr. Speedling, tJard 3, and ?? <br />new C].erk of Council, Mrs. Hill. <br />People addressing Council as follows: <br />Mr. Robert Engleson, 6168 Stafford Drive, of the Natiaaal City Bank, <br />commended the City of North Olmsted and assured his cantinued coopera- <br />tion toward the growth of our coamunity. President of Council thanked <br />Mr. Engleson and expressed Couneil's appreciation for his caogeration. <br />Mr. Joseph Simaons, 29603 Lorain Road, asked why bus fares were increased? <br />Mr. Limpert replied, due to the cast of living - wage inereases, fuei <br />maintenance costs, etc. Discussion continued relative to mini bus <br />service. Mr. Simmons then asked about the gopher holes on Lorain Road. <br />Mr. Watts, Service Director, stated that they have been repaired and if <br />not all repafxed, same is on list for attention. Mr. Simmons ask+ed ' <br />about the $5.00 increase in license plate and where is money gaing? Ttse <br />Mayor answered that the CounCy receivea this money. Mr. Sirmums then <br />discussed the sncrw removal around City Hall sidewalks. He did not lika <br />where the snow was piled. He also Questioned Councilman Speedling regard- <br />ing the recent Plain Desler article about Mr. Speedling. Mr. Speedlin$ <br />replied that he had besn inaccurately quoted in some statements. Mr. <br />Simmons then said "Is it true that you are in favor of xezaning Lorsin <br />Road?" Mr. Speedling repl3ed "Yes". <br />Mr. M. D. Kane, 6751 Fitch Road, of the Clevela'nd Trust Bank, said he <br />?????
