<br />Mr. James Boehmer, 28570 North Par1c Drive, spoke for residents of Martin
<br />and Norrth Park, saying people in this area clo not want ditcties- fihey have
<br />no problem and request Council to voce against the ditches in area,
<br />Mr, Earle °Timothy, 29863 Broxbvurne FZoad, spoke abouc lack of safety meas-
<br />ures by the contractor in GontraCt 12. Neighbors' ehildren have been getting
<br />into a fuel tank, which should be loclced up.
<br />Mro Karl Ke1sik, 29510 Lorain, spoke in defense of concractor. He says
<br />children are being allowed to tak.e advantage of situation-
<br />President of Council 0'Neill said this is aserious safety hazard and will be
<br />checked by Fire Department immediatelym
<br />Mr» Frank Sharp; 26787 Driscoll Lane, said his area is having trouble with
<br />sewer rats, Service Director Watts said he would see that they got bait
<br />stationsti
<br />At this time there was considerable discussion between Mr, Collister and
<br />Mr. Caster on problem of ditches in North Park and area, Mr, Limpert in-
<br />quired if it would be possible for Mr. Caster to put his motion in regard
<br />to revised plans by F1oyd Browne & Associates in twn sections, including
<br />Martin and North Park in one and Porter Road in the other, since people
<br />in North Park area definitely do not want ditches. Mr. Miller questioned
<br />Mr. Caster on need for ditches also. Mr. Caster said that maintenance
<br />records bear out need for ditches, and committee feels that is we are going
<br />to pave streets, we must provide a minimum of drainageR We wi1T not be
<br />running into anyone's property. MrT Prokasy, speaking as a member of Muni-
<br />cipal Development Committee, said he agreed with the engineers and Mr, Caster's
<br />recommendations? Mrm Eian, another member of this committee, said he too
<br />agrees that this must be done to protect the streets- Mayor Christman said
<br />that in 1960 roadside ditches were elimi.nated and then the City had to go back
<br />in and cut drainageT Now with these planned improvements, drainage is defin-
<br />itely needed to protect streetss Mayor Christman recommended and urged Coun-
<br />cil to accept revised drainage plans from Floyd BrowneF
<br />Ordinance No. 69-116, which had been introduced by Mr,- Eian, was given its
<br />third reading, "An Ordinanee authorizing the Building Commissioner to proceed
<br />with the demolition or removal of the building on Permanent Parce1 NoT 237-12-42,
<br />Virginia Avenue, North Olmsted, Ohio." MrT Eian moved that the Ordinance be
<br />adopted, seeonded by Mr. Westr Affirmative vote Caster, Eian, Hodgins, Limpert,
<br />Miller, Prokasy, West,
<br />Ordinance No- 69-117, which had been intYOduced by Mr. Eiana wa.s given its
<br />third reading, "An Ordinance authorizing the Building Commissioner to proceed
<br />with the demolition or removal of the building on Permanent Parcel No. 232-33-22,
<br />Lorain Road, North Olmsted, Ohio-" Mr. Eian moved that the Ordinance be adopted,
<br />seconded by Mrs. Hodgins. Affirmative vote Caster, Eian, Hodgins, Limpert,
<br />Miller, Prokasy, WestT
<br />Mra West asked that Ordinance No, 59-127 be amended to inel.ude changes submitted
<br />by Recreation Commission, and be put on second reading at next regular Council
<br />meeting,
<br />Ordinance Noo 68-100 was introduced by Mr. Prokasy and given its first reading,
