<br />had quite a bit of trouble, and questioned about condition of ditches
<br />between Deerfield and Maple Ridge. He also spoke about his swale and
<br />asked to have it checked,
<br />Mr. Earle T'imothy, 29863 Broxbourne Rd., said he was speaking for the
<br />residents in the Garden City area of City, about problems they have
<br />been having during construction of sewers there, He expressed feeling
<br />that Mr, Stomps, Floyd Browne's representative, was trying to do his
<br />best, but that the contractors were getting away with many conditions
<br />which were unsafe? He felt that someone should be checking up on safety
<br />problems daily- Mayor Christman assured him that this was being done
<br />daily by both Fire and Police Department, Mr. Timothy also mentioned
<br />the mail delivery problem when boxes were down. He also spoke about
<br />condition of "wet well," which he felt should be barricaded better
<br />and well lighted. Mr. Eian agreed that more precautions should be
<br />taken.
<br />Mr. P. Connolly, 29590 Broxbourne, spoke about mud in area, which is be-
<br />coming worse. Mr. Connolly and Mr. Stomns also discussed condition of
<br />"wet well, "
<br />Mr, C. Crabs, 25575 Butternut Ridge, spoke about the conditions which
<br />lead to flooding at southwest intercenter sewer, Mr. Crabs submitted
<br />a written report about sanitary sewers flooding due to surface water
<br />going through holes in manhole covers. This report will be turned over
<br />to Engineering Department,
<br />Mr, F. Straus, 23133 Marion, spoke about his sewage and surface water
<br />problem. He had 27". He questioned whether he had proper fa11 into
<br />storr.-i sewer. Service Director Watts said if there was still such a
<br />question in Mr. Strauss' mind, they would either have to dig up to his
<br />connection, or televise it for him. Our records show proper fa11, but
<br />Mr, Watts agreed to dig it up.
<br />Ordinance vo. 69-112, which had been introduced by Mr. Miller, was given
<br />its third reading, "An Ordinance establishing a Cultural Activities Com-
<br />mission in the City of North Olmsted." In the absence of Mr. Miller,
<br />Mr. Limpert moved the Ordinance be adopted, seconded by Mrs. Hodgins.
<br />Affirmative vote Caster, Eian, Hodgins, Limpert, Prokasy, West.
<br />Ordinance No. 69-116, which had been introduced by Mr. Eian, was given
<br />its second reading, "An Ordinance authorizing the Building Commissioner
<br />to proceed with the demoliition or removal of the building on Permanent
<br />Parcel No. 237-12-42, Virginia Avenue, North Olmsted, Ohio."
<br />Ordinance No. 69-117, which had been introduced by Mr. Eian, was given
<br />its second reading, "An Ordinance authorizing the Building Commissioner
<br />to proceed with the demolition or removal of the building on Permanent
<br />Parcel No. 232-33-22, Lorain Road, North Olmsted, Ohio,"
<br />Mre Prokasy then moved that Ordinance No, 69-120 be amended as follows:
<br />"Page 2, Seetion 2,, 1159.01, Setback Requirements, (b) read 'Portions
<br />of any multinle dwelling district within 20 feet of any nroperty ..,"
<br />Mr. Caster seconded motion, "Yeas" Caster, Eian, Hodgins, Limpert,
<br />Prokasy, West, This ordinance will return to second reading at next
<br />regular Council meeting.
