The City cost is $17,500. - ovprall cost is <br />estimated at $55,(}00. 4f this amount $5,000. is estimated far the lowering <br />of the waterline which is a 100X item af cast that is to be bdrne by the <br />municipality. Coamnittee approved this; 2) re - drainage on Brookpark. <br />Road in area of Grest Northern S'hogping Center and I 680. This wss lert <br />ug to the discretion of the City Engineer; committee will also discuss <br />this problem at aext meet3ng; 3) rt- - l,etter which was Xeferred fio <br />Streeta S Drainage Committee for studq; aatw is still in studp; 4) at <br />Conanittee's next meeting, insta21at3an of n+ew sidewalks and replacement <br />of aZd wi11 be discussed. <br />Mr. Limpert, C2zairman Finance Comd.ttee, zeported this Committee has met <br />severa3 times eince last COuAGil meeting with Service Department md <br />Police and Fire Conmeittees an further negotfaticrae regarding eelaxy requests <br />and other reqciests from each af these depaxtments. Hopes to report cvnclusion <br />of all at next Council meeting. Mr. Limpert called for a Finance Committee <br />meetiag on March 22, 1971, 8:00 P.M. <br />Mr. Iiest, Chairman Traneportation and Building, Zoning & Developmnt <br />Committees reported the follawing: 1) Traasportation Committee met and <br />agreed to ask far legislation ta authorize the Safety Directar to <br />advertise for 5 new police cars. The Transportation Committee wi11 have <br />a meetinp on M:rch 18, 1971„ 8:30 p.m. with bus drivers; <br />2) Building, Zoniag & Development Com3.ttee met several tima snd dis- <br />cussed the €ollo*rtng: (a) Firestone Store laqout and parking. <br />At this pvint Mr. West made a motion that Councii go on record as <br />approving the parking 1ot laqouC of the Firestane Stoze, aa submitted <br />and mpproved by the Plan;nf.ng Comaissic?n. Mation waa secoaded by Mr. <br />Speedling. Affirmative vote Bcehmer, Grady, I:odgins, Limpert, Prokasy, <br />Speeclling, West. M,otioa carried. <br />(b) Columbine rezoning which has been recoarmended by the Plaaaing Comi.ssiQn. <br />Mr. Weat stated the Citisens Committee on Land Use has discussed this oa <br />several occasions and they reconaeuded against fi.he rez+oaing bq a voto of <br />9 ta 6. This was discussed ag$in st Citizens Committee meeting laet Thursdap. <br />riain concern aeens to be the aspect of mixed uae allawiag high rise. Several <br />members stated that had Chis been mixed multiple rezaning th+ey wauld have <br />voted for it. PZr. West painted out ttiat while it is true mixed use dtes <br />allow for high rise; on the other hand, as compared to arixed multiple Council <br />has much tighter control on mixed use than on atiaced multiple.
