Oxganizations aad Aseccistions <br />will be invited. Mr. West said thia is not to be billed as another <br />look at Lorain Road per se - these are lots of areas in this City other <br />than Lorain Road that ought to be looked at and studied. The study of <br />land use in North Olmsted will be the whole area. <br />Mr. Spaeth said he would be very willing to caork and aerve on a group. <br />He questioned what wi.ll happen to rezoning requests on table naw? <br />Mr. Fiest said each of the council.iaen will have to decide. Discussion <br />continued. Also, Mr. West does not wsat the inference to get out that <br />he is for apartments pew se. He explaiaed as Chairman of the Building, <br />Zoning & Development Cammittee he has to snswer questians. Both aides <br />of a proposal has to be brought out so that the pros and coas of bdth <br />sides can be heard. Apartments are a aecessity - it depends on wheze <br />you want them. They do return revenuE asd there are many people who <br />caunot afford to buy homes anqmore so apartmeats have to be supplied, <br />but that does not mean that they have to be eupplied ia a certain location <br />or North 0].msted or anywhere else. As Chairmsn of the Comittee it is his <br />duty to give consideratien to any prapossl subuitted. As an individual <br />Councilman his vote on anq such propasal will be hased on what he feels <br />is best for the City. <br />Mr. D. Webster, 6011 Sherwood Drive, said he was glad to hear that this <br />is the time to go forward with amaster plan. Feels pendiag Iegislation <br />should be tabled until this is straightened out. <br />Mr. B. Shultz, 25655 Butternut Ridge, read letter in which the Southeast <br />Area Growth Assn. at organizatianal meetiag on 12-4-70 voted unanimously <br />to oppose the praposed rezoning of residemtial land north of Lorain Rd. <br />and on westi side of proposed Stearas Rd. extension for purpose o€ con- <br />struction of a 550 suiCe apartment complex. Further, sasociatiori wishes <br />to express opiaion that spot rezan3ng of residential laad is bad practice <br />and such rezoning serves to negaCe the safeguards and assurances that <br />our zoning laws are intended to provide for all citizens. <br />Mr. Clifford Crabbs, Butternut Ridge, stated he is againat rezoning at <br />the expense of someone who bought land and expected safeguards that are <br />provided bq the zoning ordinance. <br />Mr. Frank Muzika, tdhitethorn Ave., said inasmuch as Country Club Apts. <br />is up for rezoni.ng he hopes Council will consider how the people feel. <br />Margur3te Arth, 4231 West 230 St., speaking for Ward 2 Homeawaers Assn. <br />are not satisfied with the way Lorain Rd. is zoned at this time. Grvup <br />will definitelq support and be happy to work with Council an rebuilding <br />of zoniag of City. <br />Mr. M. Hatch, 3518 Huater Drive, as President of JayCees, wishss to offer <br />4D any service he can rendar if any Coamittec is formed by Cauncil.
