Said petitian contained 128 signatures; one submi.tted previcusly <br />contained 299 signatures - tar a total of 427. Petition given to Clerk <br />so that signatures map be cY.scked. <br />The Clerk read letter adnising of the formation of the Deerfield Park <br />Civic Association. <br />The Clerk resd letter from Mr. A. W. Weigand, President of Park Ridge <br />Civic Association, representing over 260 families in Park Ridge Subdivision, <br />voicing formal objection to "spot rezoning" in general and to the pxcposed <br />request by Evbassy Development for property located near Lorain Rd. aad <br />the Stearns Road extensian in particular. Furtlser, the Associa -4, believes <br />that a"master zoning p lan" is vitally needed in the City of North Olmsted, <br />and urges City Council to refuae "spot aoning" requests such as the request <br />by Embassy Development and ta work inatead tarwards the deveIcrpment of a <br />zoni.ng program which would enhgnce the asthetic values of tha commumftq <br />yet be practical and aeceptable. <br />Mx. t,1e^t mentioned that the Park Ridge Civic Associatian was one that <br />supparted the -A:ezaning along Lorain Road, petition with over 204 sigmtures, <br />etc., so that they are not a"johnnie came latelq" og having the Master Plan. <br />The Cterk read the follawing letter from Dr. Howe21 Sherman, President of <br />North Olmsted Chamber of Comnnerce: <br />"It was statec; in the Sun He°ald of Thursday, Nov. 19, 1970, <br />that Mr. Paul Cutler, Attorney, appeared before the Ilor#:h <br />Olmsted Ciey Coz::cil on November 17, 1970, as a represe?zt <br />of the North OL-:.ijted Chamber of Ccmmerce. <br />le Th13 is to inform you that Mr. Cutler is not a member of the <br />Chamber of Commerce nor was he representing thst organization. <br />The Board of Directors of the Chamber, after meeting with Mr. <br />Cutler, did vote to sarite to Citq Council requesting that hfs <br />proposal in coiutection with the temporary sign ordinanee be <br />given every consideration.
