Ia this way, ths <br />people do not have to wait until proposais get into Council befar+e they <br />can voice caments. <br />It wae suggssted by Presidont 0'Ntill that perhaps the pesopla in auclience <br />would attend Plemning Commissian meoting on November 24th aad state their <br />objections at that time. <br />Mr. G. Peterson, West 231 St., asked why a Council member af the district <br />does nat notifq people as to ahat ia going on. <br />Mr. West explained the nain re,asan is that Council is not notified as to <br />what the P2anning Cowxissioa has presented to them. Planning Commission <br />is a separate bodp by Charter. Council is verq esreful mat to tzq aad <br />influence them in any waq. Very often Council does naw knav what Planning <br />Coitmaission is condiering imtil same has beea presented to Comittee of <br />CouYtcil. <br />Mr. Prokasy comaented the imporCaat thing to retaember is that the Planning <br />Cotatni.ssien acts as an advi.sary bcard, in effect, to ODwscil. It i,s suppoaed <br />to make its decieions and reecmmendations independent of Council aad <br />Administration, which it does. <br />Mrs. Walsh, 23353 Woodview Dx'•, asked haw Council feels personally abaut <br />taking an area of lat?d ze»sed as rea3deatial sad havf.ag same rezonec2 comercial. <br />Feels it affects and harms ali people living within the a=ea. <br />Mr. West explained the ri$ht of everq landawner to appear before the <br />P1€naing.Commisaion with proposal, to request a change in exi.sting zanin$. <br />Council bp Charter is charged with responsibility of voting on ntatter. <br />Feels a reaoning such as this is one of the noet serious things i.nvolved <br />in Comcil work. Bxp].ained the ma:ey ends Committee wi11 go to in order <br />to ccame up with so2utions to improve the Cftq and not hurt the people. <br />Mr. D. Sabath, 3195 West 230 St., feels that Council should ccrosider <br />cha,nging the Chgrter. Referred to Citq of Cleweland where legislation <br />is introduced in Council and then it goes to Planning Comnision for public <br />hearing. <br />Mrs. Marie Rerman, West 231 St., feels people should be notified as to <br />what ia in Planning Coaaission. <br />Mr. E. Doehring, 33$4 Wocrdview Dr., asked what is the zcrned commereial <br />footage cm Lorain Rd. Mr. West sa3d it is 500 ft. beck - ccsner lot.
