`Public Hearing Minutes of 10-19-70
-2-
which as I understand is on the County Board for 1973. Our project can have
ready access to Stearns Road. Al1 utilities are available; we are building
our own sewer off sight through existing Parkstone, so that there will be no
use whatsoever of the sewer on Wellesley and other surrounding areas and no
burden on residential sewers.
Mr. Moss said Mr. Packer would explain the building, constructiQn, etc.
Mr. Packer had no formal presentation but said he would be happy to answer any
questions.
President 0'Neill then asked for comments from people opposed to Ord. 70-128.
Mr. Boehmer stated he had received an. important notice from Mr. and Mrs. Timothy
and Mr. McCroxxe and Mrs. McCrone and would like to have same read by the Clerk.
Mr. Boehmer said this notice was sent out to all residents in the area in regard
to this apartment house development. These are questions that the residents
would like answered. The Clerk read the attached notice, titled "Important To
You."
Mr. Boehmer said he would appreciate it if all of the questions could be answered
at this time. As representative of Ward 1, he believes that these people do have
good points and they should be answered.
President 0'Neill commented some of the questions were answered by the remarks of
Mr. Moss in his presentation; first of all, in that the streets going into Wellesley
Garden City allotment, would not be used during or after the constructian of the
project. President 0'Neill asked confirmation of this from Mr. Moss who said that
is correct.
Mr. Moss stated that Wellesley will not be used during or after construction for
ingress or egress.
Mr. West asked then why are we showing this part out on Wellesley?
Mr. Packer answered if you look at the plan we have here, our plan does not show
ingress or egress to Wellesley. It was in discussions with the Planning Commission
and the Fire Department that felt there should be some emergency provisions pro-
vided there. As far as we are concerned that land does not have to be rezon.ed.
We have no intention of using it as part of this development here. It does not
show on our plan at all.
Mr. West asked if it is their plan to take down the homes in there. Mr. Packer
said there are two vacant lots.
Mr. West said it should be made clear here exactly what is going to happen. He
asked Mayor Christman what was the Fire Department's intention on this if the
lots are unimproved - certainly, you cannot bring fire trucks in.
Mayor Christman said he believes this is at the request of the Fire Department,
feeling that one access into the 550 suites, should something happen that would
conceivably block the one entrance off Lorain Rd. they felt that somehow they
would have to have another way in there. Mayor Christman asked Mr. Packer is it
not the intention of the Fire Department to pave some sort of driveway? Mr. Packer
4D answered two strips of concrete could run over.
