It is legislation
to place on the ballot to be voted on in a ges~ral electioan this p r
a five sill -five year levy. Its purpose bring to improve the storm water
drainage system It is not ffi action taken arbitrarily by Council but as
action to be placed before the meters. Canmaittee feels that with the
flooding conditions experienced this year it is i>~erative somethin8 be done,
but for any city to come ~ with five or ten million dollars out of their
annual budget to accosplish this is impossible. The Proposal, if passed,
would raise approxisately $3,250,000. over five years. City hopes to acquire
with that SOX matching federal funds to make total project coney available
$6,500,000. This will sot relieve every single condition or every single
home but it is estisated to be at least an 80X iaaaaprov~eaeent o~rer situation at
present. The coney is directed saialy toward the lain chasse+els sad not to
the small tributaries. Casamittse feels this is the most feasible approach
to the situation and places the decision with the voters.
Mr. Prokasy called for a Streets b Drainage Committee meeting oa September 12,
1972, at 7:30 P.M., City Hall.
Mrs. Sariager requested that Stotteybrook's problem be discussed.
A point meeting of Finance Committee, Bnviroamental Control Coaaaasitfires sand
Streets ~ Drainage Comaaaittee was scheduled for Septeaa~er 12, 1972, 7:3fl P.M.,
City Hall.
Mr. Liaatpert, speaking for all of Coaincil, thaanked the residents of ~tteraut
Ridge l0oad for their letters sad the manner is which they wets written.
