Council Minutes of 4-3-73 -4- <br />North 0]amsted Park on Tuesday nights in the past, as well as Claque Park <br />and other alternative arena in the elementary schools to have thef,r gases. <br />This year the Recreation Director made the decision because of crowded <br />scheduling of alI diamonds he was going to schedule the cub scouts in the <br />elementary school areas and also et Claque Park as perarttted and not a8 North <br />Olmsted Park; there were alternatives given. They were scheduled ~d are <br />able to have the cub scout lea8~e es they alwar~rs had on Tuesday i€ they so <br />choose; there has been ~ threat of any withdrawal of mcxtey or sny lack of <br />support by the Recreation Cortission. The Cumtission enthusiastically supports <br />the cub scout program; regsrd:t~ comssnt that casplaining will not do any <br />good -the Recreation Director hats scbus~nled a memeting for this Thu~rsdey with <br />those in charge of the Cub Sc~x-t Lsagvts egad the Cossissian so that arty passible <br />difficulties can be ironed exit. Any stfosmation disseminated throvnut the <br />Co~nunity stating the cub scouts were denied a place to play baseball as a <br />league is totally untrue. <br />Mrs. Saringer questioned if streets previously mentioned that need resurfacing <br />but not on priority Iist far this year will have to be resubsitted react year; <br />also discussed Summerlacrd. ~. Prakasy eexplained the Ceaeamittee has a condition <br />list of all streets and each year Ccsss;Lttee reviews list and atteaepts to list <br />priorities of streets by amount of traffic, usage, etc. Bach year list is <br />reviewed and if there are specific streets it would be wise to bring names up <br />again. Service Director Caster said Summerlend was discussed far repaving <br />this year but when priorities were set it moved dawn farther on the list. <br />Mr. Prokasy moved Council amesxi age~a to place Res. Motion carried. <br />Letters, Com~nications: <br />Clerk read letter from Mr. Zubricky, Chairman North Olmsted Cc~utnity Council, <br />inviting Council to attend meeting on April 11, 1973, 8:00 P.M. to hear <br />informative program conducted by Mr. Godwin an proposed high voltage lines <br />through southern suburbs ~d its impact on nearby Brecksville radar station. <br />Communication from Auditor George Voinovich regarding tax reductions granted <br />by Board of Revisions. <br />People addressing Council: <br />Mrs. Gladys Zipp, 29558 Lorain Rd. discussed with Council the flooding <br />condition north of Lorain Rd. on west side of Dover in front of Hellers. <br />Lengthy discussed ensued. <br />President O'Nei11 referred matter to Mr. Prakasy, Chairman Streets ~ Drainage <br />Committee. <br />Mr. Dave Kovach, 5786 Whitehaven Drive, addressed Council regarding the <br />excusing of absence of Ce~uncilmen from meetings. <br />Mr. Clifford Crabbs, 25575 Butternut Ridge Rd., addressed Couturil re~rdng <br />air pollution, particularly in Council Chaebers and preas~atead to Council <br />copy of resolution passed by City of Berea banning smoking in Berea City <br />Hall Public l~etings, etc. <br />
