Mr. Clow requested a meeting with Bnvi tat <br />Control Committee to discuss at further length. <br />Mrs. Beringer agreed to schedule a meeting to hear opponents and proponents <br />regarding nos-returnables. <br />Mr. Gary Sterling, State Repreesesntative of Qnited Brewers Association addressed <br />Council regarding pressmtatioat on anH -litter program "Pitch In" given at <br />Jagcees last week. Ree?uested a meeting with Emrironmental Control Committee <br />to discuss further ban on non-retumables, etc. <br />Mrs. Helen Mct~e, 25065 Maple Ridge Road, wished to go an record on behalf <br />of the Air Conservation Committee Hoard and as Secretary to Clean Air S 6iater <br />Committee to encourage Council to support the City of Cleveland in their <br />attempt to get a ban on non-retumables and presented reasons therefor. <br />Mr. Dave Kovach, 5486 Whitehaven, feels it is time someone takes a stand and <br />commended Mrs. Beringer on her proposal. <br />Mr. Delmar Breast, 34106 Lorain Rd., stated he supports the proposal to fund <br />the Police Building with revenue sharing money, to reduce the banetect ndebtechtess. <br />Mr. Michael Violi, 23855 David Drive, addressexl Coue~cil with presentation in <br />support of Res. No. 73-7 on non-returnables, quoting statistics, etc. <br />Lois Benko, 24135 Beech Lase, asked that the ban on non-reeturn~les be supparteeci. <br />Lois Dunbar, 5308 Ramp ton Drive, stated as a private citiren she supports the ban. <br />Mr. Donlad Groebe, 24344 North Oecford Oval, addressed Council on proposed <br />legislation on non-returnsbles and feels that he as a consuser should have <br />the freedom of choice, etc. <br />LEGISLATION: <br />Mrs. Beringer moved to ascend Resolution No. 73-7 in the following respects: <br />1) yitle -delete: the words "drdiaancees Nos. 1710-72 and 173t3~-72 now pestda$ <br />before the Welfare Cawwittee of the City of Cleveland" a~ insert therein the <br />wards "Legislation that will bring about sow ccaatral on the use of non return- <br />ables or disposable beverage containers for the City of Cleveland." <br />,; <br />u,.,._,.. ,. ... ,: _ _ _. <br />~~~A- <br />_.i <br />
