Mrs. Sharpe, Chairman Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee, repented this Committee met on Move:aber IZ, 1974, smd again on Novembtr 18, 1974. Committee discussed requesting the State Legislature to aam-nd certain chapters of the Ohio Revised Cade in regard to certain alspects of the liquor control la~rs~. Will introduce Res. No. 74-157 tonight regarding saaae; 2) C~aaittee met with Fire Chief Beam~ant, Safety Director Carnahan and Councilman Wilamosky regarding the rtmoval of the rescue vehicle from Fire Station #2 to Fire Station #1. Chief Bement enlightened the Cktaabttet and Councilman Wi1sa`osicy the reason for the removal. The main reason far the change xaa a n-anpowar situation and also the largest nua~r of calls received have been for the east end of North Olmsted; the boundary breakdown of east end is Portex Rd. and East. Hopefully the situation has bean reaolYecl to all concerned. Portex Rd. in regard to a problem that exists in that area. Police Chief Hird and the safety forces are hell aware of the problem as it exists and every effort is being arcade to solve the situation; 4) at last Council Meeting requested Safety Director Carnahan to lack into a situation in the Pine School area where a juvenile problem existed. Rave been informed that this particular area is being patrolled by our Police twice a day. Sopefully this will deter the fuveniles from congregating in this particular area; 5) Mrs. Sharpe stated for record purposes: Is requesting that Building Ccmamisaioner Gundy check out the old Standard 011 Gas Station on corner of Whitethorn & Lorain, which property, she is inforaed by Mr. Gututy, is awned by Weiss Bros. Z~are is a large hole on the premises apparently caused by the sinking of the ground where the gas pumps were; also the guard rail on the property is in a bad state of repair. Both these conditions are a safoty hazard. Wishes to bring to t3se attention of Council that the Weiss Bros. awn the property (the old car wash) on the corner of Bailey & Lorain. They have been cit~sd on numerous occasions to clean up the property -latest letter was sent aut on November 6, 1474, and they have 10 days to conform and clean up that particular building.
