Mould like to request a ,eraetfa~g with the <br />Legislation Coessittee to review out present ordinances regarxg c the may <br />have to be made that might be useful in light of the rapid caseercial growth of <br />the City. <br />Mr. West, Chairman Transportation Committee, regarted Co~eit#aae net o+n Nove~er 14, <br />1974, and discussed folla`-ng iteses: 1) agreed with the Safety Cosai.ttse's <br />recommendations on the elimination of parking on the west side a# Dorothy Drive <br />from the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br />Mr. West nerved the Traffic Central Map be changed to indicate "13o Parking on the <br />west side of Dorothy Drive from the hours of 8:00 a. m. to 4:{?0 P.M.". Nation <br />seconded by Mr. Wilanasky. Affirmative vote: Giesser, Coggin, Saringer, Sharpe, <br />West, Wilamasky. Motion carried. <br />2) discussed possible left turn lane on Dover Center Rd. at Broakpark Extt~ion <br />and the Engineer had drawn up a proposal. It was reviewed by Mr. 3acksm:a, our <br />Traffic Consultant, sad oue change was recvessanded sad the drawing is being <br />changed accordingly and Committee will disease this item further as they get the <br />final layout; <br />3) discussed changing of the entrances and exits that presently euist an Lorain Rd. <br />for the Great Northern Shopping Center and have a drawing that our Traffic Consul- <br />tant laid out as a proposal for a change which Contmi.ttee believes will substantially <br />lessen the traffic congestion that presently is at this locstion. At this time <br />Mr. West gave a detailed gresentatian of nap and proposal. C~ueations were <br />answered. <br />Mr. West coved that the Txaffie Control Map of North Olmsted be changed at <br />Lorain Rd. and the Great kTarthera Snapping Center to eliminate the first light <br />beyond Bxoakpark Rd. going west; to have a regular walk light anal tame wideruad <br />egress and ingress on the west side of the Shopping Center per lir. Jactcnan's <br />layout. Nation seconed by Mr. Wilamosky. Affirmative vats: Gtesser, Coggin, <br />Saringer, Sharpe, West, Wlamc-sky. Nation carried. Mr. bleat further c ted <br />the developer is anxious to do it as soon as possible end before the asphalt plant <br />is closed. Mr. West asked Safety Director Carnahan what he found out regarding <br />how fast C.E.I. could nave the pole. Mr. Carnadsan stated a g+eutlemetn was out <br />yesterday; looked situation aver os the site and agreed to advise Mr. Carnahan <br />as soon as passible. <br />4) as a matter of interest -were informed that the State has gone out foe bids <br />to build that portion of 252 between Bgookpark and the proposed 1480 ntercl-ange. <br />Bids were to be back into the hands of the 9pte oa November lgth.
