Discuussed amo~mt that participation wcsuul,8 be; asrd have <br />requested the County Enginmmer's office to supply data as to What sum the City <br />will be required to pay to participate; <br />3) discussed resolution presented to us by City of Olmsted falls: jtesaiution <br />requests support to the Board of Trustees of Liverpool Tawashp ~ t~a3r request <br />to the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency to hold public hearings c~cerning <br />proposed landfill operation in that area. it is opinion of this Cos~.ttee that <br />this matter should be referred and reviewed by Environmental Central Casatittee. <br />Requested President O'Neill to refer this to the Environmental Control Committee; <br />President O'Neill referred resolution to Mrs. Beringer, Chairs~t EnviromNeatal <br />Control Committee. <br />4) discussed ceiling upon the House of Representatives to pass Senate Bill 165 <br />which if passed would increase the income brackets of the Hoss~stead ~emptian by <br />$1,000. This bill would protect the elderly hams owners against loss in their <br />homestead exemption deduction because of an increase in social secearity benefits. <br />Legislation for same is on agenda. <br />President O'Neill inquired of bir. Wilamoaky what progress has been wade regarding <br />letter from Law Director Gareau on indigent cases in RQCky River Court. Mr. <br />Wilamosky spoke with Mr. Wrighty Clerk of Rocky River Court pesterday, and he <br />indicated he would be getting in the mail copy of his budget. A letter was sent <br />to Mr. Wright asking questions and at the time the budget is sent he will answer <br />questions Committee has asked. <br />Mrs. Sharpe, Chairman Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee, resorted this <br />Committee met on April 23, 3974. In attedance besides Committee ers were <br />Councilwoman Beringer and Mr. Coticchia, 4340 Brendan Lane, who is requesting <br />installation of a stop sign at intersection of Brendan Lane & Reed Drive for <br />pedestrian traffic and especially children in area of St. Brendan Beal. Same <br />was discussed in committee and are awaiting report from Safety Director; <br />2) Application for C-2 permit for Cunningham Drug Stores at 29047 Lorain Rd. and <br />Cunningham Drug Stores at 23359 Lorain Rd. Committee has no objections to these <br />applications; although Committee agrees that there is a saturation of carry out <br />beer and wine stores. Applicants of C-2 permits are allowed to file application <br />and if they meet the requirements of the Dept. of Liquor Control for the City of <br />North Olmsted regarding number of liquor permits allowed per population the same <br />is issued providing they are in accordance with rules and laws of City; <br />3) Discussed markings on police cruisers: Mrs. Sharpe read letter from Police <br />Chief Hird explaining legaLi.ty of markings on police cruisers, indicating there <br />1s not State law as to who they must be marked - only that they are ale to the <br />identified by the public. Chief Hird called Ohio State Aighway Control and was <br />advised as Chief he can set his own specifications as to how they are larked. <br />All cruisers are properly marked as per the State Patrol. Tie cruisers are maulti <br />pupose vehicles and not used strictly for traffic; <br />4) read communication from Safety Director Carnahan regarding lights on Clague <br />Road: re: 3959 Clague Rd - have ordered three street lights for bad curve in road <br />and have upgraded the flasher bulbs from 68 watts to 150 watts. <br />5) re: 3016 Clague Road - street light has been ordered for the emd of the Park <br />driveway at Clague. Have requested C.E.I. to investigate the possibility of <br />erecting a pole and installing the light approximately halfway down the driveway <br />that leads to the park. <br />5) received complaints from residents on Country Club Blvd. on loud talking, <br />
