No. 74-38 adopted.
Under Old Business:
Mr. Giesser referred to trip taken by Councilmen and Mayor to view the Brookpark
Recreation Codex. Feels it was a worthwhile tour and gained insight into
mistakes Brookpark made in their recxsational facilities. Believes it enhanced
idea of ice skating rink, swimai,ng pool and Lennie court coaplex that our City
is considering.
Mr. Goggin referred to Gold Circle Store: as long as he can remember Gold Circle
Store has been using the trailers over there to store their inventory. During
Christmas Season there were as many as 30 trailers sitting in the parking lat.
It now averages 3 to 5 a day. He visited the area today and there ire 6 sitting
these. These are old, dilapidated trailers sad are eyesores. What €irst looked
like a temporary situation raw lacks like a permanent procedure for them. Mr.
Goggin stated that when the Council approved this project sometime ago, he is
sure that Council did not assusse Gald Circle was going to ~e their parking lot
as a storage facilitq. If they made the building too small that is their fault.
Residents should not have to suffer for it. Mr. Goggin coated they night
make a good tenant out in the Industrial park -build a warehouse out there.
Mr. Goggin asked Law Director Gareau if there are any present ordinances that
could be used to correct this; and if not, would like to recoamend legislation
to do so.
Mr. Wilamosky stated the Legislation Committee will be looking into this at
its next meeting. Has been discussed in the past.
Mr. Gareau stated he and the Building Commissioner have met twice on this
particular problem, detailed his opinion. Mr. Gareau will write letter to
Gold Circle people tomorrow informing them thep are in violation of the ordinances
and that they are to raagve theme trailers; if they do rat remove them thep will.
be cited. Next method of approach would be to adopt legislation which specifi-
ally zeros in on this problem.
