Council Minutes of 3-5-74 <br />-4- <br />Cleric reported she has received two letters from Building Commissioner Gundy <br />regarding demolition of certain fratm~ de~ellings. <br />President Pro Tem Giesser referred letters to Mrs. Sharpe, Chairman Yubiic Safety, <br />Health & Welfare Committee, for review. <br />PQOple addressing Council: <br />Mr. Eltaer Pickersgill, 23381 Marion 8d., presented to Council petition signed <br />by residents of Marion Rd. requesting that Marion Ad, be resurfaced this year. <br />President Pro Tem Giesser referred petition to Mr. Goggin, Chairman Streets & <br />Dxainage Committee, for review at next Committee meeting. <br />Mr. Delmax Ernest, 30106 Lorain Rd., addressed Council regarding ordinance on <br />Department of Human Resources. <br />Mr. John Fairfield, 5059 Devon Drive, addressed Council regarding Stearns Rd. <br />initiative petition. <br />Mr. Michael Violi, 4510 Dover Center Rd. addressed Council with regard to having <br />an updated book of Godified Ordinances in the Library.. <br />Mr. Delmax Ernest, 30106 Lorain Rd., addressed Council regarding a Planning <br />Consultant for the City. <br />LEGZSLATION• <br />Resolution No. 75-140 introduced by Mr. Boehmex was given its third reading. A <br />Resolution requesting all municipalities and elected officials of Northern Ohio <br />to help prevent any further runway extension at Cleveland Hopkins Airport. Mrs. <br />Saringer moved for adoption, second,iidby Mr. Wilamosky. Mr. West commented that <br />at the airport meeting it was explained that they are a long Way from coming up <br />with final plans -plan to have public hearings, etc. Mr. West is of the opinion <br />if North Olmsted were to take a stand now it would prejudice their po~aition. Feels <br />this action is premature and prefers to listen to facts at the public hearih etc. <br />Mr. Wilamosky commented that he believes it is essential that this resolution be <br />passed and sent to proper authorities. Mr. Lampert feels Council should wait <br />until the Public Hearings and then voice object~.ons at that time if there are any. <br />Airs. Sariager commented that other surrounding communities have already passed a <br />similar resolution. <br />ROLL CALL ON MOTION: Affirmative tote: Saringer, Wilamosky. Negative vote: <br />Giesser, Goggin, Lampert, Sharpe, nest. 2 Yeas - 5 Nays - Motion defeated. <br />Res. No. 73-140 defeated. <br />Ordinance No. 7416 introduced by Mrs. Sharpe wan given its third reading. An <br />Ordinance ataending Section 139.18 entitled "Copies of Reports: Charges" of <br />Chaptex 139 entitled "Department of Pub11c Safety" of the Administrative Code of <br />the City of North Olmsted. Mrs. Sharpe moved for adoption, seconded by Mr. West. <br />Affirmative vote: Giesser, Goggin, Lampert, Beringer, Sharpe, hest, Wilateosky, <br />Motion carried. Ord. No. 74-I6 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 74-17 introduced by Mx. Lampert was given its third reading. An <br />Ordinance suthoriring the payaeent of $1,105.50 to Ann Covello for a moral claim <br />involving the City of North Olmsted. Mr. Lampert moved far adopticxt, sac by <br />Mr. Goggin. Affirmative vote; Giesser, Goggin, Lampert, Beringer, Sharpe, West. <br />Wilamosky. Motion carried. Ord. Nn. 74-17 adopted. <br />
