Council Minutes of 1-15-74 -3- <br />5) Committee postponed action on request for approval of Mr. Prokasy to Planning - <br />Commission pending a legal opinion from Law Director on whether a conf7.f.ct of <br />interest would exist if appointment would be approved due to Mr. Prokasy's employ <br />went at local bank. Legal opinion has been received and Committee will review this <br />appointment at its next meeting; <br />6)Committee did not take action on request for approval of Mr. Maxk Addy to serve <br />on Recreation Commission due to aanounceme~nt by Mayor Christman at the meeting. <br />Mr. Addy requested his name be withdrawn as consideration. On January 10th Mr. <br />Wilamosky talked with Mayor Christman and was informed that Mr. Addq has reconsidered <br />and would accept the appointment. Ca~mnittee will review the r~uest for approval <br />of Mr. Addy at its next meeting. <br />7) Committee met with Building Coa~issioner Gundy on "emergency lighting" and <br />discussed possibility of expanding on Section 1357 of Building Code and this would <br />include buildings with Iess than 30,000 sq. ft. floor space to require emergency <br />lighting. Mr. Gundy recommended that buildings with less than 30,000 sq. ft. <br />should be considered, such as - Business buildings, Industrial, Storage, Special <br />occupancy buildings. Mr. Gundy recomtaended a Type 1 or Type 2 form of emergency <br />system would serve well. Committee has asked the Board of Building Code Appeals <br />to review and make recommendations to this Committee. <br />tire. Sharpe, Chairman Public Safety, Realth & Welfare Committee, reported Committee <br />met on January 15th and discussed following items: 1} D 3 A permit application for <br />Kitchenmaid of Akron, Inc. dba ~inelaader, Great Northern Shopping Center, 25973 <br />Brookpark Rd. Committee has no objection to this application. <br />2) application for a D-1 and D-2 permit for Don Bement, 29919 Lorain Rd. Commiittee <br />has no objection to this application; <br />3) Ord. No. 66-244 - charge for copies of Police Reports bringing price from $1. <br />to $4. for initial report and $l. far each additional side of page. Comani.ttee <br />found no objection to this and legislation for same will be requested. <br />Mr. nest, Chairman Transportation Commi*_tee, reported Transportation Committee <br />meeting was postponed until January 21, 1974, in order to get final financial <br />data for 1973 and other information. <br />People addressing Council: <br />Mr. Bill Bruton, 4577 Kew Drive, addressed Council regarding Recreation Complex. <br />Mr. Joseph Corrigan, 6369 Brighton Drive, addressed Council regarding regulations <br />on abandoned gas stations; also regarding appointment of Mr. Prokasy to Planning <br />Commission. <br />Mr. Delmar Ernest, 30106 Lorain Rd. addressed Council regarding updated Comprehensive <br />Plan. <br />Mr. John Fairfield, 5059 Devon Drive, addressed Council regarding newspapers and <br />their coverage of Council Meetings. <br />~Ir. Charles Miner, 24830 Lorain Rd., representing Senior Citizens of North Olmsted, <br />addressed Council and Administration regarding Department for Elderly in City. Mr. <br />Miner requested a meeting with Council and Administration and Senior Citizens <br />Advisory Committee. President O'Neill scheduled a meeting date on January 29, <br />1974, 8:00 P.M., City Hall. <br />
