Council Minutes of 12-16-75 -2-
Finance Director Gerlach reported: 1) last week City held homeco~aiag from
the recalcitrant residents who refused to pay their incoee tax far 1973 and
1974 and subpeonaed many people. Do not have it added up yet but it is about
$30,000. The ones who did not appear will be taken to Court.
Mrs. Saringer, Chairman Environmental Control Committee and Lang Range Punning
Committee, stated Mr. Goggin will give her Caamittee's report along with his
report.
Mr. Goggin, Chairman Building, Zoning ~ Developm~eat Committee and Streets b
Drainage Committee reported the Building, Zoning ~ Devslaparant Ctmsittes met
on December 10, 1975, and City Engineer Childs recoseended the dedication of
the following streeta: Zn Blossom Dover Subdivision No. 2 the stases of
Linwood Circle and Dogwood Trail. In the Chrysler Subdivision the streets of
Wallet Circle and Wallet Eaad. In the SDC Subdivision the streets of Dorothy
Dries, Midvale Avenue and Northern Avenue. Bequests for legislation have been
submitted to the Law Director;
2) next item discussed was 1~lanaera Subdivision combining two parcels to one
and there was no objection and same is on first reading tani.ght. Manners rhea
showed the Cosmittee glans for the rabuildiag of their restaurant at the present
location of 26770 Lorain Rd. They are planne-g on deaolishimg what is there
including the drive-in section in the back and completely rebuilding. The
Committee sent the proposal to the Safety Director for a traffic flow and safety
report regarding the entrance and exit areas a: they relate to Lorain Rd. and
Country Club Blvd. which is right across from the entrance and tacit;
3) Committee reviewed itea from 8omp Brothers Devalapmtent Iiec. Their request
for a rezoning from residential to coarerciai was rejected by the Planning
Commission and they have asked Council to review the proposal. The Committee
reviewed this proposal and do not feel it is in the best interest of the people
of the City of North Olmsted. Committee concurs with the Planning Comsission
that this request be denied.
Mr. Goggin moved that Council deny the request of the Romp Brothers Development,
Inc. for the rezoning of those parcels, seconded by Mr. West. Affirmative vote:
Beaty, Goggin, Lampert, Saringer, Sharpe, West, Wilamoaky. Motion carried.
4) Committee discussed a request from Mr. DiBenedetto for a road opening on
Blossom Blvd through sublot 205. The Planning Commission denied this request
on 11/25/75 and Mr. Di etto has appealed it to Council. The B.Z. 14 D.
Committee reviewed the proposal on December 10th. The purpose of this street
would be for a secoadaiTaccess to the land north of Blossom Blvd. which is
presently being prepared for developmstat. The Committee strongly recommends
this request be denied. Coem~ittee does not see anything in the pro~sal Chet
would be of benefit to the residents of North Olmsted. The residents in the
immediate area would be presented with additional traffic on their residential
streets and, cause uadctie hasasds to their health and safety. If the road
were to be permitted it would also place the. home that adjoins the lot where
the street would ga in to within 1S feet from the road. Not only would this
place the home in a non-conforming category, it would place the re:ideate of
the home in an extremely undesirable situation.
Mr. Goggin moved that Council deny the request of Mr. DiBet~letto to place a
street opening on sublot 205 an Blossom Blvd., seconded by Mrs. Sharpe.
