Council Minutes of 4~1-75 -3- <br />the record that we are not authorizing the Section 8 classification as Council <br />did not have opportunity to review that. Are only authorising the fact that <br />Council is sti11 interested in senior citizen housing. Mr. Giesser stated we <br />are merely indicating that as a cammvnity wa are still interested in the concept <br />of senior citizen housing. Mr. Wilsmasky asked Mr. Gessex has he hoe <br />made the motion -would it be possible to obtain copies of Bection 8 proposals.. <br />Mr. Giesser stated there is supposedly uing in the mail a crmxplete copy of <br />Section 8 senior citizen housing and it wfil be xeroxed far Cauacil. Mr. ieilamosky <br />verified the motion them is ~1+st to a-vg+part the concept not ~cessarily Section 8. <br />Mx. Giesser affirmed stating hate nc+t seen the details of Section 8 in fu11 detail. <br />Roll Call on Motion: Affirmetiwe vote: Qiesser, Goggin, Liap+ert, Beringer, <br />Sharpe, Wilamosky. Motion carried. <br />7) scheduled a B.Z.&D. Cuaittee Meeting on Agril 9, ].975, 8:30 P.M., City Hall. <br />President O'Neill is now present. <br />Mr. Lampert, Chairman Finance Committee, reported Committee is still negotiating <br />with the Fire and Police and nothing more to report out at this time. <br />Mr. Wilamosky, Chairman Intro Goveuental Relations & Legislation Gbmmittee, <br />reported Legislation Committee with all Gommittee Members present met with <br />Safety Director lay Carnahan, Director of Department of Lumen Resources Dan <br />Copeland, Police Chief Hird and 3uvenile Office Dellapasta. Discussed with them <br />the possibility and neceesity of a Juvenile Court branch in North Olmsted. Mr. <br />Copeland researched the matter very thoroughly and reported back to the Cams€ittee <br />that in his opinion the Juvenile Court w~-uld net open a breach in North Olmsted <br />because of its location -far west section of Cuyahoga County. He did b~rever <br />report that should a branch be opened in North Olmsted the Cauaty wotsld~pr~vide <br />personnel amcl the 1aca1 municipality would be xequired to provide office space, <br />utilities and office equipment. Ccrosattee reviewed with the Police Department <br />the number of cases from North 4lmstsd that are handled through the Juvenile <br />Court and a+aighed the gotential expenses to the City far a genlie branch. Zt <br />was the unanimous recommendation of the Committee that we not pursue a Juwenile <br />Court branch in North Olmsted at this time. <br />Mrs. Sharpe, Chairman Public Safety, Health 6 Welfare Cotaa~ittee, reported <br />Committee received application for a D-l, D-2 and D-3A peraits to Stanley Yee, <br />dba China House Restaurant, 27087 Lorain Rd. Committee has no ob3ections to <br />applications. <br />People addressing Council: <br />Mr. Dennis Sefeek, Detective with North Olmsted Police Department, addressed <br />Council stating he has been elected as spokesman far the Police DeparCt <br />Negotiating Committee; discussed earlier meetings with the Finance Coms'~ttee and <br />stated the Safety Farces are rsQussting that meaningful negotiations reopen and <br />would like all members of Council to be involved in the negotiaticnts. Lengthy <br />discuasian ensued by various members of Council; request was disused and pros <br />and cons given regarding request. <br />Mr. John Fairfield, 5059 Devon Drive, addressed Finance Director pertaining to <br />bonded indebtedness of Gity; whether Gity is broke. Finance Director discussed <br />subjects. Mr. Fairfield also addressed Council pertaining to the sub,~ect of wage <br />negotiations giving his views on same. <br /> <br />
