--~---. _ <br />Courici.l Minutes of 2-18-75 -4- <br />'~ Mrs. Sharpe, Chairman Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee, reported <br />Committee met on February 11, 1975, and reviewed following: 1) H.B. 54 which <br />deals with liquor permits: It was consensus of Committee that we do not support <br />this particular bill as we passed Res. No. 74-157 pertaining to liquor permits <br />based on population ratio; <br />2) application for a D-1 and D-2 permit to Buckeye PH, Inc., dba Pizaa Hut, <br />23642 Lorain Rd. 23642 Lorain Rd. is an abaadonad American Service Station. <br />Committee is requesting a hearing on this application; <br />3) application for a D-5 permit to Bucicaya Building, Inc., 26649-701 Brookpark <br />Rd. Extension. Committee is requesting a hearing on this application - reason: <br />parking does not conform as that particular store development is not set up for <br />restaurants or liquor establishments; <br />4) Application fora C-2 transfer permit to Fisher Foods, Inc. dba Fazio`s, <br />4700 Great Northern Blvd. Committee has no objections to this transfer permit; <br />5) Mrs. Sharpe thanked President O'Neill far attending meeting on gun control on <br />February 8th regarding the need for a unified effort of all com~itias regarding <br />legislation on gun control. Mrs. Sharpe was unable to attend the meeting. Does <br />believe City should participate in Council of Councils to formulate effective hand <br />gun legislation and reason for this is the lack of the State to take any affirmative <br />action on gun control. Therefore, fee~.s it should be done on a county or city 3eve1. <br />Will introduce this evening legislation supporting a county wide legislative effort <br />to formulate and effect hand gull control. Discussed further review and input from <br />County resolution and legislating our own after more input from County and outside <br />groups; <br />6) requested le3fi~slaicioa for dsmdlition of an unsafe structure on p.p. # 233525-1, <br />at 29328 Lorain Rd. <br />7) Mrs. Sharpe stated it has been brought to her attention that during last snow <br />storm three men were manning o~ snow truck and asked what the procedure is. Mr. <br />Caster discussed procedure - he thinks it was a cvmibnation of plowing and opening <br />up catch basins - on these occasions three then oxt a crew are used. <br />8)Mrs. Sharpe asked Mr. Giesler what status is xegarding height limitations around <br />swimming pools. Mr. Giesler stated Law Director is presently incorporati this <br />along with legislation for Comprehensive Plan; <br />9) Mrs. Sharpe stated she has received crnuplaie:ts regarding semi trailers parking <br />at 23642 Lorain Rd. Read letter from Mr. Albenze to Building Commissioner Gundy, <br />with copy to Mrs. Sharpe, which letter staffed, in part, that the new Traffic Code <br />does provide far this type situation and any furthex violations may be prosecuted. <br />In the event this condition persists after the new Code takes place, notify Mr. <br />Albenxe and he will draft necessary complaint or have violators cited by Police Dept. <br />President O`Neill asked Mr. Wilamoskq if he was intending to amend the agenda also. <br />Mr. Wilamosky replied affirmatively. <br />Mr. Wilamosky moved to amend the agenda to remove legislation 75-2fl, 75-21, <br />75-22 and 75-23. Motion seconded by Mrs. Sharpe. Affirmative vote: Giesser, <br />Goggin, Lampert, Saringer, Sharpe, West, Wilamosky. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Wilamosky explained his reason to remove 75-23: At last Council Meeting he <br />.discussed possibility of hiring a professional City Planner or Architect to <br />review the comprehensive xecommendativns. In his opinion, 75-23 is a sound piece <br />of legislation. In lieu of the fact that we have received tonight a brief <br />communication from Regional Planning - thinks we should consider going back to <br />Ptegional Planning for their input a~td clarification on how they determined the <br />developability of the plan.
