Council Minutes of 2-4-75 -6- Ordinance No. 75-16 was introduced by Mr. West and given its first reading. An Ordinance authorizing and directing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the City of Fairview Park, Ohio, far the furnishing of bus transportation to the residents of the City of Fairvie~r Park, Ohio, at the ti~+ss and for the rates set forth in said agreement and repealing Ord. Aio. 74-33, and declaring an emergency. President O'Neill referred Ord. No. 75-16 to Transportation Committee. Ordinance No. 75-17 was introduced by Mr. 6+kst aAd given its first reading. An Ordinance granting reduced fares far senior citizens riding the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line, and repealing Ord. No. 72-53, enacted May 16, 1972. President O'Neill referred Ord. No. 75-17 tv Transporttation Committee. Ordinance No. 75.18 eras introduced by Mr. West and given its first reading. An Ordinance ratifying and confirming the paymar-t of overtime pay to municipal hus line employees at a rate of cx-e and onae~half times the base rate of pay for overtis~e worked, and authorizing future pay+reestte during the pendency of litigation in the U.S. Supreme Court of $ case chall+ee~idg the yair Labor Standards Act as respects municipal employees, and declaring an emergency. (See New Business) Under Old Business: Mre. Saringer asked Service Director CAStex if he has advertised fax bids for guard rail on Claque Rd, as this legislation was passed in Decexber. Service Director Caster has not. Mrs. Saringer asked if he will be doing so. Mrs. Saringer inquired about situation at Lebern Lift Station - is contract up and what is the status. Service Director Caster said contractor has asked for an extension of time - have long delivery leads on some items, i.e, us?tor control center and compressor. Contractor has not formally been granted an extension. Looking at the first of June for completion. Mrs. Saringer asked Safety Director Carnahan when the stop signs will be put up on Marion & West 233rd - that legislation also was passed in December. Safety Director Carnahan stated they were put on order - does not know why thep are not up yet and will check it out. Mr. Wilamosky referred to Ord. No. 75-12 and asked Mr. West, Council representative on Recreation Commission, what the idea is and feeling behind tine hirfng of .the Recreation Center Manager during the planning stages - what is the purpose behind that. Mr. West explained the qu$lified Director should have a great deal to say about some of the things going into the Center and through his experience there are a number of questions coming up by the contractors as to ghat should be done with some flexibility; also to get Director's input and experience so there aren't any mistakes and we have the Center like we ought to hs~e it; further, because he is in charge of maintenance, he is in chatcge of the operation and has to fully understand the facilities. One of the best ways is to be in on it when it is being constructed and talk to people who are putting it in; alas, he wrill be designing programs and getting preseotian ready and setting up scla+eduleds, etc. because it opens next October - we only have the Sum~aer to get this dcn:e and that is a lot of work to be done. ~,. _ rte......,.. ..,._._.
