Council Minutes of 1-21-75 -S- <br />approval of Mrs. t+ihittlesey for that term with that expiration date. Also, <br />realizing the expiration date of all of the meabers on the Board as previously <br />recommended and approved by Council to make it official to reaffirm their <br />expiration date so that it will extend them out five a~oc-ths, which could be <br />done tonight. And then that Coil capu~3der changing the expirati+~ date <br />of these to coincide with the mud of t ca]~x-dar pear as all other appointments <br />do expire. Mr. Wilamosky said tl~ Legislation Committee will take thaw suggestions <br />under advisement. <br />S) Committee received comm~icat#~at free tb~e Mayor suggesting Oouncil pass <br />Res. No. 74-i59. It waa further r+~a~ad+sd that a fuadi~ng aRecism be in <br />corporated into such legislatiop. In ~~ iC was the opinion of the Committee <br />that it would be premature to pre~ride fu~ng ar even consider funding until it <br />has been determined if the Cuy Co~tity ttayars 6 Managers Asau. will form such <br />a committee; <br />6) Committee continued with its review of Rules of Coucil; <br />7)Committee continued to discuss the p~tible resolution prohibiting smoking in <br />Council Chambers; there were three fae~ts discussed: 1) to continue to allow <br />smoking; 2) prohibit smoking entirely; 3) a~gaate a section in the rs for <br />smoking with hopes of improved v+sntilatioo. Com~d.ttee has no recendations at <br />this time. <br />Mrs. Sharpe, Chairman Public SafeCq, stealth & Welfare Coem~tttee, reported Committee <br />is in receipt of reply to ouac ob~eeti®-n regarding application for a D-3 permit to <br />Ohio Pizaa Carp., 26127 Lorain ltd., from the State of Ohio, Liquor Control, stating <br />as of Jan. 8, 1975 the application has bean cancelled and a hearing will no longer <br />be necessary; <br />2) in receipt of letter from Building Coas~3ssioner Gundy regarding demolition of <br />four structures which consist of a siag~e dwelling, detached garage, utility shed <br />and out house at 29b22 Lorain Rd. and requests legislation for demolition of same. <br />Mr. West, Chairman Transportation Casmittee, reported this Coamtt.ttee suet an <br />January 14, 1975, with about 30 resit3ants and discussed the mini bus runs. All <br />agreed to drag the reference to mini buses and refer to service in the particular <br />areas that mini buses are presently serving. The Committee of the group of residents <br />did an excel]~snt fob on mskiag presentation with agereday~ maps and specific <br />recommendations. The Transpartatasi Committee agreed to take rec atiana - <br />to review them and to came up with recoameaedatians and then meet with the people <br />again. In the meantime, agreed that we would hold is abeyance any chaegees in bus <br />service -number of runs, etc., and particularly in view of the fact Chat, of <br />course, they have under active consideration the regional mass transit. Have <br />indication that the Federal Gave - E is pretty well along with their operating <br />subsidy program and guideliares aa+d soles far that; and an indication that Forth <br />Olmsted could very well partitipste in that subsidy for operating. Committee <br />agreed to hold things in abeyance sad take th~a all under consideration aspd to <br />get back to the residents atxt to Council with recommendations. The group submitted <br />a number of petitions to continue the r~s as they are. Petitions were s~dressed <br />to the Mayor and they have been transmitted to the Clerk of Council fear tr~ensmittal <br />to the Mayor. Committee is still vitally interested in reducing the deficit the <br />bus line has and want to waintaist a stroe8 and wide-spread a bus service as we <br />possibly can. This is the ab3ectvs amd this is what Cc~ittes will try to do; <br />2) next Transportation Coa~asittee feting will be on January 28, 197S, 7:3Ei P.M. , <br />City Hall, and will discuss other item that have been referred to Transportation <br />Committee. <br /> <br />
