Tha other alternative is to take a look at
our ordinance with respect to that and see whether or sit we caaanot reduce the
50 ft. requirement to 30 or 35 ft. and wake that 35 ft. greatn eod~ khe Ierst 15 ft.
they can display their merchandise. Mr. Beaty will try by the first of the year to contact people at RTA
to begin discussions - contract runs out in October - so if we are interested in
extending our contract with RTA now is tip tiers to approach them. A suggestion
was made that instead of a solid grate. light for the westbound traffic - possibly
when the traffic was going eastbound to put a flashing yellow light which would
indicate that you can make a turn there but with caution. A lot of cars aze getting
the green light and trying to beat the other traffic they are having quite a few
accidents there. There is a green arrow at the end of the regular gross light.
Safety Director Carnahan has taken this over to Mr. Jackman, Traffic Consultant,
for recommendation.
