Council Minutee of 12-7-76 <br />-4- <br />Mr. Boehmer asked Mr. Beaty about the possibility of a traffic light at Dover <br />Center Rd. and Bro4kpark Extension and also to reduce the spsnad ~.mit to 2S mph <br />on Dover Center Rd. Frc~sident Liapsrt stated this natter will be taken up under <br />New Business. <br />Mrs. Beringer asked Mr. Beaty if Corittee discussed her request with respect to <br />the Westwood service and commse~tad she did receive report from Mr. Zoldasy regarding <br />a check on this service. lie. Beaty atat~d this was discussed and it is his <br />understanding that there was a suffici~sut •! sad asked if Isr. Zoldasy could <br />comment on same. President LieQert stated this will be taken up under Old Business. <br />Mre. Sharpe, Chairman Building, Zoning & Development Comsittee, reported Committee <br />met on November 29th - also in att a were City Bagineer Childs, Mr. Duskey <br />from Board of Zoning Appeals, Mrs. Bvalya 1Gisighton and Imo. Leah l~rlea, both of <br />Allendale and Mr. Anderson of Friends C~irch. Following items were discussed: <br />1} Stewart J. Grainer Subdivision, a retail business parcel located east of the <br />former Chef Gene property, the subdivision of two lots into one. Comsd.ttee has no <br />objections and legislation is on first reading; <br />2) Jim Yesbak Subdivision located ~- west side of Decker Rd., subdivision of two <br />lots into one. Committee has no objections and same is on first reading; <br />3) Waschak Resubdivision located oa the east side of Wellesley near the Elmhurst <br />intersection. Commcittee has no objections sad same is on first reading; <br />4) Mrs. Sharpe had received a letter from time City Snginser regarding sidewalks on <br />the new section of Country Club Blvd. Coasdttee is not going to take nay action <br />on this request and is turning this back to the B~agiaeer for any action that he may <br />deem necessary; <br />5) in report of Mrs. Sharpe, dated 11-3, she reported on the Country Club Extension <br />~4 plans but was waiting for a report frost the $af:ty Director. Asv+e since received <br />a report from the City Engineer and a traffic light will be installed at that <br />intersection. <br />Mrs. Sharpe moved for approval of the dedication plat and im~-rovement plans of <br />Country Club Extension ~i4 Pleas, seconded by Mr. Beaty. Affiretative vote: Beaty, <br />Boehmer, Beringer, Sharpe, West. Motion carried. <br />6) Committee discussed the special permit granted to Friends Church at the Board <br />of Zoning Appeals meeting of r 10th. There was no objection to the <br />construction of the church edifice; the homeowners were objecting to the location <br />of the proposed parking facilities and also the lighting. The B.Z. b D. Coarsi.ttee <br />will take no action on the special permit but will be awaiting the final improveetent <br />plane from Planning Coss;i.ssioa and will again review the Friends Church proposal. <br />Mr. West, Chairman Environmental Control Committee, reported Committee met on <br />December 4th with people of Forest Rtdga Subdivision to discuss their drainage <br />problems. City Engineer Childs reported oa his latest surveys and inforwettion <br />and Mr. West complimented Mr. Childs on his presentation at the meeting. The <br />conclusion arrived at was that first we would get the ditch cleaned out a~td as Mr. <br />C~t11ds reported, we are working with Westlake on this. The next is that the <br />subdivision through their newsletter would +mcourage the people to install sump <br />pumps as had been recommended by the City Engineer previously which will ba required <br />no matter what else the City doss in this particular problem; sad also to ask the <br />President of Council to assign to the Pihsacs Cotimittes a look-+~se ~e~uether or not <br />about $400,000 nay be available next year if the ditch cleaning and the susp pumps <br />do, not salve the problem and whether there is bpading Fagacity to take care of this <br />particular drainage problem. <br />Ft iailw+a',w±.'Y'f lYMp.~1Nk4: E4',pA.?MW~A+YTq¢k1(M!(9G1 <br />'.., .. <br />
