Committee has no objections but Committee is waiting on a
report from Safety Director Carnahan;
4) Committee discussed a letter from Mayor Christman regarding a City owned strip
of lead 3 ft. wide near Windsor Dr. & McKenzie Rd. Committee agrees that we
advertise this strip for sale so that the adjoining property owner can acquire it
in order to make this subdivision feasible. This legislation will be forthcoming
at next regular Council Meeting;
5) Committee discussed the site plan for Mr. Greg McKee to build a nursery storage
building as the north side of Bradley Ad. and Committee has no objections.
Mrs. Sharpe moved for approval of site plans and off street parking of Mr. Gregg
McKee's nursery storage building, seconded by Mr. Beaty. Affirmative eote: Beaty,
Boehmer, Sariager, Sharpe, West, Wilamosky. Motion carried.
Mr. West, Chairman Environmental Control Committee, reported Committee met on
October 25, 1476, and discussed the request for two vehicles for the Sewage Treatment
Plant. There is sufficient money included in the budget for these two vehicles and
under New Business will ask for legislation to advertise for bids for these two
vehicles;
2) Committee discussed the report regarding the potential hazard of fiber glass
insulation and the State EPA people have been contacted on it and they have said
they will send>out an inspector to look at our particular installation. Have also
received some literature on this which indicates that this has bees thoroughly in-
vestigated in the past and there is no real hazard on it; but will wait and see what
the inspector has to say on our particular case.
Mrs. Sariager, Mr. West, Mr. Wilamosky and Mr. Caster discussed the type of vehicles
for the Sew~r~Txeatment Plant. Mr. Wilamosky asked if consideration has been given
to the pot~sbility of tr~sferring a Service Dept. vehicle to facilitate the need
at the Treatment Plant and purchasing a new vehicle for the Service Dept. Mr. Caster
explained the need for a reliable vehicle at the Treatment Plant and that there is
no surplus in the Service Dept. available.
People addressing Council:
Mrs. Gemma Szabo, 30837 Bradley Bd., addressed Council regarding a poster on the
Charter Amendment which she understood should have been in the supplies of the
boothworkers. Discussion ensued as to procedure of the City and Mrs. Szabo was
referred to the Director of the Board of I3lections.
Mrs. Madelyn Brookshire, Hampton Drive, addressed Council regarding the removal
of the Service Department from the Park with a request that this be a high priority.
Discussion ensued.
Mr. Joseph Corrigan, 6369 Brighton Drive, addressed Council and Administration
with respect to conditions that can be imposed within the Code for the occupancy
pf a building - specifically the expansion of Great Northern Shopping Center which
is the New Mall: there aren't any real traffic control signs, only signs painted
on the pavement, etc.; also permitted parking on apex of a curve, and feels some
standards should be set. Discussion ensued. Mr. Corrigan also discussed the
outside lights at Gold Circle being turned off at 10:00 p.m. sad feels this is a
safety hazard. Mr. West explained the subdivision is back of Gold Circle requested
this and the City asked Gold Clxcle to turn off the outside lights, but will check
as to the hour this should occur.
