Coaaa®ittee I make two promises to Council and to the <br />people of North Olmsted. If this plan is voted dove tonight, as I expect it will be, <br />I will request legislation to be ready for Council in two wens creating the <br />Architectural Board of Review as outlined in the Comprnsive Plan. I promise <br />that the B.Z.&D. Committee with as much help as the other Members of Council can <br />offer, will get to work right away on a thorough axsaat3.nation of the Comprehensive <br />Plan, perhaps with the intention of reworking sows of the zoning categories that <br />are so offensive to many people; with the intention of eliminating sows of the <br />multi family zones from these categories, but finally with the intention of pre- <br />senting a new and more acceptable package either to Council or to the voters, and <br />it is my intention that this be accoasplished before the end of the year." <br />Mr. West, Chairman Environmental Control Committee, reported: 1) there is <br />legislation on agenda tonight pertaiitiaag to the purchase of a small piece of <br />ground from Mr. and Mrs. Lee - this is to provide a rightrof way across the <br />property on Nantucket so the people south of Revere can go on up to Revere and <br />get to the High School. We negotiated with the Lees and it is ba~Ily needed and <br />the legislation should be passed this evening; <br />2)Mr. Kuhn, our representative who has been waarkiag on the sewer finances has <br />reported he is now rely; and Mr. West requested a ~oiat meeting of Environmental <br />Control and Finance be established to lis~an to this report and aaaa~ce a decision <br />what we ought to do in order to bring the finances of the sewer system where they <br />should be; <br />3} City Engineer has completed his study of the Forest Ridge flooding problem, <br />and Mr. West scheduled a a®eeting on October 2, 1976, 11:00 A.M., City Aall, of <br />Environmental Control Committee, Streets & Acainage Committee, City Engineer <br />sand the affected residents; and requested the Clerk to notify the residents of <br />the meeting; <br />4)all of the new buses are in; <br />5) scheduled a meeting date of October 4, 1976, 8:00 P.M., City Hall, with Mr. <br />Kuhn, Environmental Control Committee, Finance Com~aittee and Members of Council. <br />Letters, Communications: <br />Clerk read letter from Chrystler Realty Corporation stating their objections to <br />the proposed Comprehensive Plan and requestlag retention of present commercial <br />classification. <br />Clerk read letter fxom Mx. Richard Peplin, owner of property at 23845 Lorain Rd., <br />urging Council to defeat the proposed zoning plan. <br />Clerk read letter from Mr. David Margolies advising that on 9-8-76 he submitted <br />a rezoning request to the City Engineer's Office, involving a change in zoning <br />from C Residence District to Multiple Residence District. <br />People addressing Council: <br />Mr. Delmar Ernest, 34106 Lorain Rd., addressed Council, stating for all who <br />oppose the rezoning proposed in the Coaaaprehensive Plan - Mrs. Sharpe's report <br />has said it all. <br />Mr. Hank Janik, 24944 Lorain Rd., addressed Council with respect to the proposed <br />Comprehensive Plan and read to Gouncil editorial coama~ts which appeared in the <br />Westlife against the Comprehensive Plan. <br />Mr. Darryl Buckland, 29885 Lorain Rd., addressed Council urging Council to vote <br />no on the proposed zoning and gave reasons therefor. <br />~~~M, , , <br />
