Council Minutes of 11-1-77 <br />-5- <br />President read letter of appreciation from the residents on Louis Drive expressing <br />their thanks to Mayor Chxisteaan and Council for ttuir efficient action in eacpedtLting <br />the resurfacing of their street. <br />Clerk read letter from William R. Slams, Jenkins Road, to which was attached a <br />petition signed by homeowners on Jenkins &1. asking Council to vacate the <br />endmost portion of the street sad deed it to the two endmost property owners, <br />stating reasons therefor. President Lampert referred ease into Building, Zoning <br />& Development Committee. <br />President Lampert announced that Ord. No. 77-156 has been removed from Agenda. <br />LEGISLATION: <br />Ordinance No. 77-165 introduced by Mr. Beaty was given its third reading. An <br />Ordinance amending Section 2 (A) of Ordinance No. 76-157 entitled "1~ Ordinance <br />establishing the organization and composition of the Police Department: salaries <br />and various benefits for the members of the Police Department: various rules, <br />regulations and employee rights and repealing Ordinance No. 76-126 enacted August 17, <br />1976, and declaring an emergency", which said Ordinance was adopted by this Council <br />on November 3, 1976, as amended. Mr. Beaty moved for adoption, seconded by Mrs. <br />Sharpe. Affirmative vote: Beaty, Boehmer, Fairfield, Saringer, Sharpe, West, <br />Wilamosky. Motion carried. Ord. No. 77-165 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 77-175 introduced by Mr. Boehmer was given its second reading. <br />A Resolution authorizing the filing of a petition in the Court of Common Pleas of <br />Cuyahoga County for the organization of a Regional Water District pursuant to <br />Chapter 6119, Ohio Revised Code, authorizing the Mayor and the Director of Law of <br />this city to sign such petition on behalf of the City of North Olmsted. <br />Resolution No. 77-176 introduced by Mrs. Saringer was given its second reading. <br />A Resolution declaring the necessity of repairing a sidewalk in the City of <br />North Olmsted, Ohio and requiring the abutting property owner at 25870 Kennedy <br />Ridge Rd., permanent parcle No. 236-10-30, to repair the same. <br />Ordinance No. 77-180 was introduced by Mr. West and given its first reading. An <br />Ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract with the Cleveland Electric <br />Illuminating Company for the furnishing o£ street lighting and other electrical <br />sexwices fc~r the City of North Olmsted and declaring an urgency. <br />Resolutioa No. 77-181 was introduced by Mrs. Sharpe and given its first reading. <br />A Resolution accepting for recording purposes only the P.J. ~ J.J. Baas Subdivision <br />in the City of North Olmsted. <br />Resolution No. 77-182 was introduced by Mra. Sharpe and given its first reading. <br />A Resolution accepting for recording purposes only the Evelyn Somerville Subdivision <br />in the City of North Olmsted. <br />Ordinance No. 77-183 was introduced by Mr. Fairfield and given its first reading. <br />An Ordinance authorizing the Mayor to negotiate a lease agreement with the Great <br />Northern Partnership for the lease of space to accomodate a senior citizen center. <br />Ordinance No. 77-184 was introduced by Mr. Fairfield and given its first reading. <br />An Ordinance authorizing the Mayor to hire the services of an architect for the <br />purposes of obtaining estimates of cost for an addition to the Ccmm3unity Cabin which <br />is to be used for a senior center. <br /> <br />
