Council Minutes of 9-6-7:r -~+~- <br />4) Commmittee discussed authorizing Service Director to advertise for bids for <br />3,500 tone of salt to be used this coning Winter Season and Cosscittea has no <br />objections: legislation is oa a~anda tacaight; <br />5) Coa~sittee discussed authorising Service Director to ad~rtise for bids for <br />2,000 tags of cinders to be used the coring Winter Season and Committee has no <br />objections: legislation is cut agenda tonight; <br />6) Coae~ittee discussed comm~ication from Service Director requesting legislation <br />to advertise for bids for the sale of Service Dapartoent surplus equipment which <br />is no longer being used or is usa~-ls. Legislation is on agenda tonight. Comm~.ttee <br />has no objections but does request this legislation be submitted to Transportation <br />Committee for their review a~ael recom~andation; <br />7) Committee discussed with Safety Director ~oharik a report received from the Rio <br />Dept. of Health which stated a survey'was made by then of our Police bepartment <br />Firing Range and air samples were ts~cen fox lead; and it is the Ohio Dept. of <br />HeaS.th recommendation that the City increase the sise of its ventillation system <br />exhaust from its current 2550 cfm to 8000 cfe: also, increase the air intake from <br />its current 3750 cfm to 7200 cfr`. It was also reco~-ended that we could block <br />off three of the s:~arting stalls. Safety Director 1Coharik and Administration have <br />been loc:~ing into it. Mr. Wilaaweky stated as a point of interest he would like <br />to ask the Administration if they would take the tins to contact the architect and <br />consider reviewing and discussing with him what criteria he used when he originally <br />designed our shooting ranges to determine whether ar not there eras adequate infor- <br />mation available. Mr. Wilamosky stated the National Institute of Health ~ Safety <br />in 1973 was undertaking a study of shooting ranges and made their report known in <br />1974 and he has forwarded the information to Safety Director 1Cohaxik and gav~a him <br />the name of the gentleman who provided the information to Mr. Wilavasky: He is <br />Mr. Yee, a Professional F~ginser with the Rapt. of Health. The astisated cost to <br />improve the ventillation is appxoxis-ately $8,0~. and at this tine there is no <br />recommendation for disposition of the muter. Hoarever, Committee hopes to continue <br />to review it and come up with an equitable solution; <br />$) it has been brought to the attsatian of the Finance Committee that the <br />creation Complex has agreed this peat Sumner to operate the concession stand in <br />cooperation with the North Olostsd Soccer Organization. The Honey was collected <br />by the Rec Complex personnel at the Soccer Tournastent this past Shaer. The <br />proceeds from the concession were to be split With the Rec Complex sad the Soccer <br />Organization after expenses. Casstttee ravie~l it and the amount due the North <br />Opted Soccer Organization is $1,136.11. The Finance Committee wishes to advise <br />Council that Committee reviewed the ~sattsx and has no objections and recommend that <br />a check be drafted in the amount of $1,136.11 for North Olmsted Soccer Organization <br />share; <br />9) Committee requested the Finance Director to include in an upcoming transfer <br />of appropriations ordinance the sum of $3,000. for tree planting. 9kasretis~e ago <br />had reported we wanted to undertake this and try to clear this program up as <br />rapidly as we could. It is the Committee's desire that the tree plamting program <br />be enlarged to capacity to a1laM for a cleaning up of that particular program; <br />10) Ord. No. 77-14I on second reading tonight dealing with emergency repairs for <br />a Wastewater Treatment Lugger Truck: Cc+mm`tttee has revieared ease as~d will recommend <br />that the amount of $2,056.30 ba paid. In the future, Mr. Wilaaaraky as Chairman <br />of the Finance Committee, will appreciate some ec~metunication frc~ the Administration <br />as soon as possible when work such as this is Headed sa the Cosimttse is not <br />notified sometime thereafter. <br />Mrs. Beringer asked Service Director Costar up until what time will they be plascting <br />trees.
