Council Minutes of 7-1977 -4- <br />2) Legislation Committee reviewed proposals to publish 200-sets of replac <br />pages to the Codified Ordinances end renomnended Justinian Publisl~ing...Compa+ny; <br />the lower of the two proposals; <br />3) very happy the City has found money to hire three additional policemen and <br />three firemen and would like Council to go on record as having ao abjectioas. <br />Mr. Boehmer moved Council concur is the addition of three policemen and three <br />firemen, seconded by Mr. Beaty. Affirmative vote: Beaty, Boehmer, Fairfield, <br />Saringer, Sharpe, Wilamosky. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Wilamosky, Chairman Finance Committee, and Long Range Planning Committee, <br />reported: 1) Committee has no objection to advertising for bids for chlorine <br />to be used at Treatment Plant and because of Council vacation next month, will <br />be requesting suspension of rule requiring three separate readings oa Ord. No. <br />77-140 tonight; <br />2) Committee also supports the efforts of the Administration and other Members of <br />Council is working and striving far unity in the possibility of hiring additional <br />personnel for the Police Department and Fire Department. The Coseittae wholeheartedly <br />supports this and will do whatever is necessary to fulfill the Finance Cosseittee's <br />responsbility in reviewing with the Administration and the Finance Department the <br />areas where those funds for the additional policemen and firemen will be transferred <br />from. <br />Mra. Sharpe, Chairman Building, Zoning & Development Committee, reported Committee <br />met on July 12th, with Attorney Allan, representing the Gibson Partners, Safety <br />Director Roharik, Law Director Gateau and representatives of Raachvrw area. <br />The meeting was called strictly to discuss the Tallwood Subdivision. The Co~am.ttee, <br />the attorney for Gibson Partners sad the residents of Ranchview have all agreed <br />that there will not be a thru street cosascting Tallwood Subdivision end Raachview <br />Drive: that there will be as access only to be used by the Safety arts+ents end <br />the area will be used as a park area. Attorney Allen and Law Director Gateau were <br />to met and finalize the pleas and Law Director Gateau will then proceed with <br />legislation. Now awaiting the results of that meeting and will report on the outcome <br />at a later date; <br />2) will be requesting suspension of the rule requiring three separate readings on <br />Ord. No. 77-130 and Res. No. 77-139 tonight. <br />~.etters, Co~uvnicatioas <br />Clerk read letter from Mr. Frank E. Pinkham, 5595 Barton Rd., an open letter to <br />Council Members regarding the interpretation of the Building Code. <br />Mrs. Saringer stated she has received a couple of pieces of correspondence from <br />residents with respect to the legislation concerning noise levels and the <br />constituents would like to see the legislation out of Com®i.ttee and working for <br />the people. Mrs. Saringer asked if President Limpert would notify Mr. West and <br />request a Coom-ittee meeting while Council is on vacation so this legislation might <br />possibly be acted on at a Special Meeting or at our first meeting in September. <br />President Limpert will do same. <br />People addressing Council: <br />Mr. Robert Swietyniowski, 272$4 Nantucket Drive, read and presented to Council <br />a letter requesting"the Council submit the initiative petition regarding the <br />sanitary sewerage system charges to the electors of North Olmsted for their <br />approval or rejection at the regular election to be held on November 8, 1977. <br />~.~ <br />
