Affir4ative vote: Beaty, Boelsoer, Fairfield, Beringer, 3ha'rpe, iiilasosky. Alotion carried. 2) Safety Committee ,met with the ISayor, Fire Chief Bsawltnt, and Financmm Committee and discussed new nren to the Fire Hapartssat and decided to put on three new tsaa on the Fire Department; 3) also discussed new radio equipment for Fire Station ~1 and the asount would come to approximatelq $2,000. 4) in the asst future Committee would like to seat with Chief of Police Taylor on hie dagartm~it and what wa can ~ to put more men on that da#iartssr~t. Ceyswi.ttee felt that a program should be set ulr to tkt sonathing for both dapart~aits even if we have to alternate. Alt. Fairfield stated that Fita~e+e Director Gerlach in his appropriations for next year took a lot of this into consideration: our rating is about 59th in the County of 60. Mr. Fairfield stated he thinks this is an important area. Mr. Wilamosky, Chairman Finance Coraittae and Long Range Plat~it~g Committee, reported: 1) it was Committee's thought to request Ord. 1~0. 77-95 be rwgeow~d :from Agenda but the Finance Director hes provided Coms-ittae with a figttra far Ord. Will be requesting suspension of rule requiring three separate resuings the evening; ~) Committee stet and discussed the •timatad budget for 1978: in the 1978 sstimated budget we are requesting from the County Budget Commission an allocat~i of local government funds in the am~it of $1,90C,Og0. In the past years w!a haw xeceived from the County from the local gvvartiaet,t fund allocation in the area of 4287,000. so we are asking for a coasidarabla amount more than we have received in the Bast. In the 1978 estimated budget there are three areas which have increased co~isidezably: 1) street repair; 2) incraasiag the matipowsr of the Police Department a~ 3) iacreas- ing the manpoarer of the Fire Department. The General Fund within t'~ estimated budget for 1978 totals $5,0+~4,08t3. These would replace the radios zsow in use .
