Council Minutes of 5-17-7? -8- <br />® Ordinance No. 77-92 was introduced by Mr. Wila~weky and gives its first reading. <br />An Ordinance authorising theissvance of notes in anticipation of the issuance <br />of bonds for the purpose of providing funds to purchase aotorise~l vesicles and <br />equipment for the Departa-snt of Public Service, sad declaring ~ asergency. <br />Ordinance No. 77-93 was introduced by Mr, Wilama:sky and given its first reading. <br />An Ordinance authorising the is'ua of Dcrtsa to anticipation of the issuance of <br />bonds for the purpose of provdis-g far the ~ap~eoveswat of Mill Road by con- <br />structing a ato:rs sewer and resoving trees for.. the constructic~ of a sidewalk, <br />and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 77-94 was introduced by Mr. Wilamosky sad given its first reading. <br />An Ordinance to provide for the issuance of notes in anticipation of the levy of <br />special assessments and in anticipation of t1~s issuu~ee of bonds to pap the <br />property owners' portion of the cost of improving Mi11 Road by constructing a <br />concrete sidewalk, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance Na. 77-95 was introduced by Mr. Wilamosky and given its first reading. <br />An Ordinance to provide for the issuance of notes in anticipation of the issuance <br />of bonds to pay the property owners' portion of the cost of constructing, replacing <br />and repairing concrete sidewalks at sundry locations in the City, and declaring <br />an emergency. <br />Resolution No. 77-96 was introduced by Mr. West and given its first reading. <br />A Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids <br />for 50,000 gallons of sodium aluu~inate for use by the Service Department. President <br />Lampert referred same into Eaviroreatal Control Committee. <br />Under Old Business: <br />Mrs. Saringer referred to our Affirmative Action Program and the Mayor's statement <br />a few weeks back the need for this legislation as not only would our Come unity <br />Development Block Grant Funds be in jeopardy but also our revenue sharing. Mrs. <br />Beringer stated she did some checking and the Treasury Department has no knowledge <br />as to this being. one of the stipulations and asked Mayor Christman where he had <br />received his information. Mayor Christman stated he thinks this is a requirement <br />that they are eacpectiag to be attached to the general revenue sharing funds: .this <br />is through the trade journals of the Nations Cities & Mayors. <br />Mrs. Saringer stated two years ago she requested two catch basins to be raised <br />on Westchester Drive: last Sumsar the Safety Director issued a letter stet ng it <br />was a safety hazard and requesting that it be repaired: believes the Mayor received <br />a call on this last week after an accident occurred: asked Mayor Christman if he <br />has any information on when this work will be completed. Mayor Christman stated <br />after receiving the phone call he sent Mr. Weldon to inspect the situation. Mr. <br />Weldon indicated that there had been a work order made out on it sometime ago and <br />it was sot done - thinks this reflects-the amount of work that our Service Dept. <br />does not get done because of lack of two things: funds and manpower; and it was <br />unfortunate that it was not completed but understands from Mr. Weldon that he has <br />ordered Mr. Novak to raise the catch basins. Mrs. Beringer discussed with Mr. <br />Wilamosky whether we do not have funds available to hire the necessary personnel <br />to get the work done with respect to streets. Mr. Wilamosky referred to the last <br />appropriation ordinance passed ~nerein based on the cost pxovided from the Bervice <br />Dept, on labor and manpower substantial funds were appropriated that would provide <br />for ail necessary labor and material for the street repair program; but he under- <br />~k.. <br />
