Council Minutes of 2-1-77 <br />-3- <br />Mr. West, Chairman Environmental Control Committee, reminded everyone of the <br />scheduled Environmental Control Committee Meeting on February 8th, 7:30 P.M., <br />city xall. <br />Letters, Communications: <br />Clerk read letter from Mr. W. Terpenang, Manager Real Estate and Site Planning <br />of Standard Oil Company requesting a hearing before City Council for the purpose <br />of rezoning a parcel of land at the northeast corner of Lorain Rd. and the proposed <br />Interstate 480 at the Comity Line. The Planning Commission denied the requested <br />rezoning on January 25, 1977. President Limpert referred same into $. Z. & D. <br />Committee. <br />People addressing Council: <br />Mr. Bob Brace, 7120 Barton Rd. addressed Council requesting the guard rail directly <br />adjacent to his property which was torn down be replaced. Discussion ensued. <br />Service Direetox to check into same. <br />Mrs. Gladys Zipp, 29658 Lorain ~d., addressed Council with respect to the contxact <br />the City has with the City of C],eveland for the billings for sewerage treatment•ard <br />what effect that contract will have if Ord. No. 77-20 is passed. Finance Director <br />Gerlach discussed same. <br />Mr. John Maloney, representing the North Olmsted Soccer Assn., addressed Council <br />edvising that there are over 800 children enrolled in a Soccer program for this <br />spring and will be using the Barton Road Complex along with elementary schools, <br />Mr, Kenneth xuntington, 29701 Wellington Dr. addressed Council with respect to <br />Res. No. 77-27 and requested Council and Administration support to try to <br />eliminate the 480 interchange on Stearns Rd. Lengthy discussion ensued. <br />Mr. Bob Perry, 27150 Butternut Ridge Road, addressed Council, expressing his <br />concern with the amount of traffic on Butternut Ridge presently; and gave reasons <br />why he does not think it is in the best interest of the City to delete the <br />Stearns Rd. interchange. Discussion ensued. <br />Mr. Dick Spaeth, 28873 Tudor Drive, addressed Council with respect to traffic flow <br />with respect to the interchange; also discussed the sewer rate ordinance. <br />Mr. Cliff Crabbs, 25575 Butternut Ridge Rd., addressed Council with respect to <br />the traffic on Butternut Ridge Rd. and if $utternut Ridge Rd. is to become a four <br />lane highway; also discussed the sewer rate ordinance; foux lane bridge at <br />Butternut ~ I-480. Lengthy discussion ensued. <br />Mr. Jim Raifsnyder, 4959 xampton Drive, addressed Council, regarding traffic <br />flow of the City, Stearns Rd. and proposed interchange. Discussion ensued. <br />Mrs. Parsnick, 27620 Butternut Ridge Rd., addressed Council with respect to the <br />traffic flow on Butternut Ridge Rd. and problems she encounters. <br />Susan Webb,;. 27010 Butternut Ridge Rd., addressed Council with respect to the <br />traffic problems on Butternut Ridge also her concern if it is made into a foux <br />lane highway and explained reasons therefor. Mr. Wilamosky asked if the City <br />has made any commitment either to the County or State that Butternut Ridge Rd. <br />is going to be widened. Mayor stated no -discussion ensued. <br />~.. <br />
