<br />~+' board. The only reason for questioning this is because a couple of months ago had
<br />personally made a recomsmndation of a lady - Virginia Hodgins - who is highly
<br />qualified in serving the City, worked with the City, and is very well aware of what
<br />is going on in the same board. Would find it hard to support the Lion of
<br />Mr. Gorris. On behalf of the committee, thought it would be appropxia<te at this time
<br />to go ahead and move for the approval of this nomination. Mr. Logan stated it was
<br />his understanding that this was to be held ov9er until the next meeting of Council.
<br />Mr. Wilamosky stated that commttse retrl.awed the resume and based on some comments
<br />that did arise, it was the intention to discuss it at least one nwre tie and give
<br />rir. Beaty the opportuui~y to~voce his opinion.-~'Mr. Beaty moveel that the Council
<br />approve the appointment of Att. Gnrris to the Plating Commission, second by
<br />Mrs. Petrigac. Mr. Logan taoved that tie nomination be re#erred back to cotaatttee,
<br />seconded by Mr. Boehmer. LaW Director Gateau was asked if at this point it could be
<br />referred back to com~.i.ttee. Mr. Gateau said it could be tabled to a date certain.
<br />Mr. Logan moved to table to a date certain - specifically November 8, 197$, seconded
<br />by Mr. Boehmer. Roll call on mot#on: Affirmative vote: Boehmer, Logan, Sharpe,
<br />Wilamosky. Negative vote: Beaty, Petrigac. 4 Ages - 2 Nays - Motion carried.

<br />Mr. Boehmer, Chairman TraASportation and Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committees
<br />reported: 1) coraittea met aa~d discussed transfer of a C-1 and C-2 liquor permit from
<br />the DBA of D and E Beverae, 254 Lorain Road, to the DBA Wastes Beverage and Deli,
<br />2SO44 Lorain Road, .and CotMa#,ttee lass no objection. Mr. Boet~er e~ved that Council
<br />approve said tracts#er, secaatdad by Abr. Heaty. ~frmative vote: Beaty, Boehr~er,
<br />Logan, Petrigac, Sbsr~e, Wila®osky. 1~ition carried. 2) comlt.#:ttee also disused
<br />hiring two new clerks for the Police Dttpartme~tt. If approved by Council, two new
<br />clerks would work a six d+~y week - otte sAxft from 8 to 4 and the other from +~ to
<br />12. They would take care of ps:r'ki~ag tickets, warr...g tickets, aronthly work reports,
<br />etc. 3) committee also discussed tlse gurchase of _'~ve new police cars asd italla-
<br />tion of radios in said cars. Committee has no objection. Legislation for this. is
<br />on tonight's agenda. 4) committee discussed Resolution No. 78-13a canernix P+alce
<br />and Firemen`s Pension Fund and committee has no objection.
<br />Mrs. Sharpe, Chairman of Building, Zoning and Development reported 1} committee met
<br />on October 11, 197$, and discussed Atsrtyn's Towing and Service Com~-any located at
<br />29708 Lorain Road. They are regnreatn; to build a storage garage for trucks which
<br />will be used for storage purposes only. The drive and layout have been approved
<br />by the PlanninL Commission and BZD com~tittee has no objection. Moved that Council
<br />approve drive .'_ayout and concept of plans for the storage garage, seconded by
<br />Mr. Beaty. Affirnative vote: Beaty, Boehmer, Logan, Petrigac, Sharpe, Wiiastosky.
<br />Motion carried. 2) committee discussed the Walter Zaremba 98-unit, two-story apart-
<br />ment coarpiex with attached garage located at West 231st and Lorain Road. Parking is
<br />adequate. Committee hats ato objection. Moved that Council approve parking and
<br />concept of apartment complex as approved by the Plamting Cot~.ssion, seconded by
<br />Mr. Beaty. Affirmative vote: Beaty, Boahiaer, Logan, Pstrig~tc, Sharpe, Wilamosky.
<br />Motion carried. 3) co~tittee dsnsed a letter from Mayor Swietyniowski pertaining
<br />to land-locked parcels oII Fitch Road. The owners, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Tallman, of
<br />Galax, Virginia, wish to c~nate this: land to the City providing the City assumes
<br />all 197b and subsequent tas+es and asatssmants, title costs, etc., on the said
<br />property. It was decided by the com~ti.ttee sand the Mayor that it would not be in
<br />the best interest of the City to accept the offer of the Fitch Road property.
<br />Correspondence was sent to the Tellts regarding our dedision.
