Council Minutes of 5-16-78 -4_ <br />We must submit an application. A letter should come from E3.'A in the very near <br />future. One of the stipul:bons made by $PA is Chat we must meet with at laaat <br />three different consulting firms and then seLet one to represent us. Mr. Lund, <br />who has toured our wastewater facility, was Quite complimentarq about our facility <br />and its operation; however, we do have a severe seepage problem within the City. <br />Mrs. Petrigac has made arrangements with Mr. Crider to conduct a tour thru the <br />Sewage Treatment Plant on June 5th, 1:00 P.M., and invites anyone interested to <br />take this tour. <br />Mr. Boehmer, Chairman Public SafBty, Health & Welfare Committee and Transportation <br />Committee, reported Safety Cawntrf.ttee astd Transportation Committee met jointly and <br />discussed stop signs at Edgepark and Woodpark; and a 4-way stop sign at Piste Circle <br />and Edgepark. Committee approved the stop signs and legislation for same is on <br />agenda tonight on first reading; <br />2) discussed a traffic light at Decker & Lorain Rd. and Gom~mi.ttee approved request <br />and legislation is on second reading tonight; <br />3) discussed a no left turn on Braokpark b Lorain by National City Bank and same <br />is still in Committee: will meat with bank manager and discuss same further; <br />4) discussed a no right turn on red at Foster ~ Lorain and legislation for same <br />is on second reading tonight. Coe~ittee recomaaends approval; <br />5) Safety Committee reviewed a liquor application to Magic Pan, Inc. for a D58 <br />permit. Committee objects to this application because there is no building on <br />the address listed on application. <br />Mr. Boehmer moved Council abject to the application for a D5B permit to Magic <br />Pan, Inc., Great rtbwer~+: Shopping Center, 5281 Great Northern Blvd., seconded <br />by Mz. Beaty. Aff~ive vote: Beaty, Boehmer, Logan, Petrigac, Beringer, Sharpe, <br />Wilamosky. Mohan carried. <br />Mr. Wilamosky, Chairman Finance Committee and Long Range Planning Committee, <br />reported Long Range Planning Committee met on May 8, 1978, and the Mayor and <br />Service Director were in attendance. The meeting was a greliminary meeting to <br />discuss with the Administration some long range equipment needs of the Service <br />Department. The Service Director had a list prepared of what he fait would be <br />necessary equipment. The Committee requested the Service Director to evaluate <br />the lisC again with respect to priority. At neat meeting Committee would like to <br />discuss immediate needs, projected needs for the next 18 to 36 months, and long <br />range equipment. <br />2) Finance Committee met on May 8, 1978, with the Clerk of Gouncil. All members <br />of Committee were present. Other members of Council in attendance were Mrs. <br />.Petrigac, Mr. Boehmer and President Limpart. The Clerk of Council addressa~l <br />~`~ Committee at request of Mr. Wilamosky. The subject the Clerk discussed was her <br />work responaibilitiea in conjunction to salary range. Following the Clark's <br />presentation, Committee along with other Members of Council which were present <br />discussed the Clerk's comments and discussed reasons why the Pinanca Cottee <br />reported out at the May 2nd Council Meeting with sac tion to ncraa~e the <br />Clerk of Council's salary to $11,500. annually. Mrs. Sharpe racomsendad that the <br />Clerk of Council be paid $13,0. annually, Discussion ensued. It was the <br />consensus of the majority of the Committee that the range not be increased 15.5X <br />as recommended by Mra. Sharpe. The comments of other ?4emhers of Council who were <br />in attendance support Mrs. Sharpe's recommendation. The Commit~te was polled with <br />respect to increasing the range to $13,040. and it is the recoermendation of the <br />majority of the Committee to recommend against an increase in the range to $23,000. <br />
