Council Minutes of 5-2-78 _4_ <br />Director on increases in salary range of police dispatchers. The current ordinance <br />provides for a salary of $6,500 per year for full time dispatcher sad $3. per hr. <br />for part-time. The recommendations are to increase salary of full ti~re dispatcher <br />to $ 6890. per year and part-time hourly rate to $3.34. Committee has no objections; <br />The Committee recommends against the creation of a position of Police Dispatcher <br />Supervisor which was discussed. It is Cooiu3.ttee's recommendation that a new <br />position not be created in that particular field; <br />5) Come~ittee discussed fstrstic+n'$ recommendation to increase salary range <br />of Building Department Inspacto~rs to $8,QQ0 to $15,076 and Committee recommends <br />adoption. There are a number of other changes within that ordinance and Committee <br />will answer any questions; <br />6) Committee reviewed rec ations with respect to Aec Center and Committee has <br />no objections. Recommendatcals are as follows: Grade 1 - Rec Asst, part time from <br />$1.33 to $3.00 per hr. and rac that it be amended to read $1.00 to $3.00 per hr.; <br />Grade 4 maintenance persons to $2. to $S.SO per hr.; Grade 7 maintenance supervisor <br />to $6,000 to $12,000 per year, with all other pay ranges within the ordinance <br />remaining the same; <br />7) Committee discussed Ord. loo. 77-75 which sets the compensation for the Recreation <br />Department employees. It was rec ed by the Administration that the playground <br />supervisors salary be increased to $840. per summer; assistant playground supervisors <br />to $725. per summer and plapg3cound helpers Grade 1 to $6S. per wk., Grade 2 to $68.25, <br />Grade 3 to $73.50, Grade 4 to $78.75, with all other salary ranges remaining the <br />same. Committee has no objections aQd recommends adoption; <br />8) Committee discussed Ord. ~. 77-110 - arhich establishes compensation paid to <br />the Clerk of Council and Secretary to t1m~ Clerk. Committee recommends amending <br />the range of the Clerk of Council to read $6,000 to $11,500 annually. Committee <br />recommends no other change within the ordinance at this time; <br />9) Committee discussed Ord. No. 77-107 with respect to Administration's recommenda- <br />tions and Committee has no objections to am~snd the salary range of secretaries to <br />read $6,020 to $11,500. annually with the hourly rate to read $2.89 to $5.52 per hr. <br />There were other m3.nimal cha~affies in the ordinance: Committee recommends the base <br />pay for clerks be increased to $5512., and an hourly rate of a minimum of $2.65. <br />with no change to the top range for clerks. Committee recommends adoption; <br />10) Committee met with the l~yar sad Mr. Corrigan to discuss ordinances under the <br />jurisdiction of Director of Public Service. Discussed Ord. No. 77-103 - the <br />organizational chart of the Eagiaeeria~g Department. The recommendations are <br />minimal and Committee has no cbj~sct:cmis. Committee will answer any questions; <br />11) Ord. No. 77-104 - organisational chart for the Service Department. It was <br />recommended to provide for act annual salary for foremen of the Service Department <br />and Treatment Plant, thereby taking tlsam off of an hourly rate. Committee has no <br />objections to the recommendation. It was also recommended that Section H of Ord. <br />No. 77-104 which provides fox a clothing allowance of $130. per year for foremen <br />be eliminated; <br />12) Ord. No. 77-105 which covers Treatment Plant Systems - recommendations were <br />similar to that of Ord. No. 77-144 earl it was recommended that the clothing allowance <br />of $130. per foreman be eliminated. Committee will ateet again with the Service <br />Director to discuss a change in one of the ordinances and that is the creation of <br />a new position within the Service Department and the elimination of an existing <br />position; <br />13) Committee recommends Ord. No. 78-42 be adopted and this ordinance was amended <br />to -provide a retroactive date of January 1, 1978. Will be requesting suspension <br />of rule on this ordinance; <br />14) scheduled a Long Range Planning. Cittee Meeting on May 8, 1978, 7:15 P.M., <br />City Tull, and requested Service Director Corrigan to be in attendance; <br />.:, <br />
