A1~, would 1~~cs to get into t question <br />relative to salaried positions snci gualificationa on middle managemsnt, etc. Feels <br />this should be explored; <br />5) still working on leaf p#ack~: t~uld like to discuss equipwrent needs with <br />Streets ~ Drainage Committee at their nett Meting or ehatever comsiittee the <br />President deems equipment needs be referred. <br />Finance Director Brockman reported: 1) have received our eatimated allocations <br />from the lOta entitlement pericxt of Feral Revenue Sharing Funds. Basically <br />this is money that we will receive Ae7cC year in the amount of $235,107. - a slight <br />increase from this year's allocations. <br />Law Director Garesu reported: 1) the Warchol case (baseballs hitting the side of <br />a house) is tentatively settled, although it will depend an a couple of elements <br />that have not been brought together yet. If it is not settled co~letely, we <br />will go to trial on May 3rd; <br />2) Law Director, Magor and Service Director met with RTA people today. The Law <br />Director has been designated as legal cv~ael for the City of Borth Olmsted to <br />negotiate the contract with BTA sect he has a meeting with the attorneys for RTA <br />on May 4th; <br />3) had set up depositions in the Rush case which were cancelled because the attorney <br />on the other side was not able to make it and they will be set again. <br />Safety Director Petre reported: 1) the traffic study on Brookpark has been <br />progressing well and the project should be cospleted within the ~xt ten days; <br />2) the Police Department ects to hire a police officer this week to fill the <br />vacancy created by the retirement of Lt. Adams; <br />3) after numerous calls and vi.aits to a problem area which is the walkway between <br />Gardenia and North Park, would like to recomorend that Council approve a streetlight <br />at the walkway between these two streets. Feels perhaps a l75 watt light would <br />cut down on a lot of problems with a minimal expenditure to the City; <br />4) the Fire Department personnel as of April 17th responded to 505 calls which <br />represents an increase over 1977; <br />5) recreation plans of Sumner have been completed and all personnel hired. Have <br />added a new T Ball program for the 7-8-9 year olds, plus some new plans as part of <br />the recreation program. Most baseball, soccer and softball programs have already <br />started; <br />6) the North Olmsted Recreation Complex Advisory Board just completed another <br />promotional project at the Great Northern Shopping Center; <br />7) the Building Department and Police clerical personnel salary evaluation will <br />be discussed with the Finance Comsittet within the next two weeks. <br />Mrs. Petrigac, Chairman Environmental Control Committee, reported:l) Ord. No. 77-126 <br />is on second reading tonight as amended; <br />2) Committee met April 12, 1978, and discussed following: letter and resolution <br />= from Citq of Rieimwnd Heights relative to stopping burial of nuclear wastes in <br />Ohio.
