'•Je have reviecaed the estimate of cost prenared by your City <br />Engineer, Ronald Zurm-7ski, and market projections furnished by OsCendorf-"4orris. <br />qhortly, we will be meeting with the representatives of ??ini's and aur own partners <br />to determine their interest in proceeding with ajoint venture for the marketin? of <br />the develoned land. Pending their approval, we will be prepared to proceed with <br />the project. We anticipate a favorable outcome of our meetings and we shauld be in <br />a nosition to present the signed petitions for assessments to Council in the very <br />near future. We will keep you infortned of our progress and thank you very much for <br />your cooneration". This basically mesns they are going to accept assessrnents or <br />petition us for assessmeats so the City can finally get a road put in the area vshere <br />the Industrial Park is. Thanked Mr. 7.urawski and rtr. Gareau for their efforts over <br />the last two years. <br />Service Director Corrigan reported: 1) Have taken delivery on the leaf vacuum <br />equipment and leaf boxes. Chief inechanic A1 Cepic was not happy with one of the <br />hydraulic cyliners supplied and one of them was retro-fitted last week with a new <br />hydraulic assist system; four other leaf vacs will be fitted tomorraw and ready for <br />service Thursday morning. 'ltiao wnits were out this «eek and all five units *gill be <br />out next '4onday. <br />2) i-dith respect to the $350,000 equipment package authorized by Council, have taken <br />delivery on the new track paver, to be put into service next year, which will <br />improve the City's ability to do a quality asphalt overlay on streets. Will take <br />delivery next week on a new front-end loader and various pieces o£ equipment. On <br />the truck package, will prohably not take delivery before the first of the year since <br />there are six trucks involved9 all diesel equipped. <br />City Engineer Zurawaki reported: 1) The txaffic aignal at the intersection of <br />Columbia Road/Butternut Ridge Road was extensively damaged by vandals; tTT0 <br />other controls, two flashers south of this intersection, were al.so damaged. <br />Temporary repairs have already been made9 estimated cosst for permanent repairs is <br />approximately $1,200. <br />2) Cqclone Fence started installing the fence at the 3arton/Bradley Recreation Fie1d; <br />completion is expected in 29 days. <br />3) ?4r. 7.urawski explained what is being done as far as testing the Sewer System <br />Evaluation Survey. There are five basic phqsical inspection surveys which are <br />performed in sequence which allows for identification, verification aad the magni- <br />tude of extraneous water entering the sanitary sewer system. The two basic types <br />of extraneoua water sources are termed "inflow'° and "infiltration". Inflow is <br />related to surf ace water due to rainfall entering the system. Infiltrationn is <br />related to ground water which enters the system. Three of the five basic physical <br />inspection surveys have been completed -iManhole Inspection, Smoke Testing, and <br />Dye Water Testing Survey. U}re 7-later Flooding Testing is going an now and the <br />TV Inspection Survey is the final survey. In addition to the above tests, wells <br />were drilled to determine the elevation of the ground water throughout the City as <br />well as flow metering of selected sewer lines to assist the isolation of extraneous <br />inflow and inf iltration sources.. <br />4) Since there was some question as to iXr. Zurawski's previous report regardinR the <br />interconnection of traffic signals, he supplied Council with copies of the letter <br />from Ohio Bell from which he had quoted. The letter, in part, stated 7°ACCOY'din$ to <br />our renair department, LMC 6394 was installed on t-qay 15, 1970, on order #IA-549329. <br />Approximately $627.00 in charges has been billed for this location since then. <br />40 'I'he entire circuit has been billed to North Olmsted". <br />S) Duriag the past weelc, spoke with Councilwoman Petrigac to disEuss means in <br />solving some of the problems in the City regarding rear yard drafnage.
