Council Minutes of 5/17/83 -5-
summary of current information and also a timetable as to when the Engineering De-
partment feels the subdivisicros wi11 be ready for dedication. A1so, the Comm3.ttee
recommends that the Mayor, or any of his delegates, contact the bu3lder of Meadow-
brook Subdivision, formerly Timber Trails, and express Cammi.ttee's desire to see him
undertake the installation of street lights. Committee feels it wi11 enhance the
area currently under construction as well as the existing homes, and will give the
current residents some added security. Asks the Administration to report back to
Committee with respect to this matter.
3) Committee will be touring the City with Director Corrigan tfiis Saturday; will be
viewing some of the streets which are in need of repair, working from a list of a
year or two ago. Will try to prioritize the streets and make some recammendations
to the Seruf.ce Department and Council.
4) Although Mr. Woerpel covered some concerns with respect to Tinber Trails and the
responsibilities, both legal and moral, of the bank, the develoger, and the City,
Mr. Wilamosky feels that another meeting is definitely in order. Has received a
conaaunication from Engineer Zurawski which outlines and sumnarizes what the builder
of Meadowbrook Subdivision and the Engineering Department have settled on with re-
spect to what would be acceptable to knoek some of the items off the pre-dedication
report. Thinks this should also be discussed, along with what the City's responsibil-
ities are and would ask the Law Director to be in attendance when the meetings are
scheduled.
Mrs. Petrigac suggested that since the contractor contacted by Mr. Corrigan has had
since July of 1982 to respond, and has not done so, per`haps other contractors ghould
be contacted for estimates. Service Director will get some more estimates and
by next Monday at the latest will have an estimate in the Council Member's office
boxes.
5) Finance Committee met May 16th and discussed Ordinance No. 83-52, creating a new
fund known as the "Endowment Fund". Committee has no objection.
6) Committee discussed Ordinance No. 83-54 which appropriates the $2,400 received
by the City from Mrs. Louisa A. Scott, which is to be used for paramedic equipment.
Comenittee is very grateful to Mrs. Scott for her contribution to continued quality
service of the paramedic unit and has no objectian to Ordinance No. 83-54.
7) Committee discussed Ordinance No. 83-57 which authorizes the regair of two coaches
on the Bus Line, authorized by Service Director Corrigan, and completed on an
emergency basis. Commnittee has no objection.
8) Committee also recommended that Ordinance No. 82-150, appropriation up to $3,500 to
hire an architect to determine what improvements can be made to Town Hall, be taken
out of committee and added to the agenda this evening. Committee recommends adoption
of this ordinance.
People addressing Council:
Ms. Betty Golick, 4677 Silverdale Road, asked Mayor Swietyniowski to introduce the
Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts who will serve as honorary officials on Al1 Scouts' Day.
Mayor Swietyniawski also introduced Mr. Dillon who is "Mr. Scouting" of 1983. Council
recognized Gir1 and Boy Scouts and Mr. Dillon.
Mr. Joseph Sepesy, 4268 Plumwood Drive, presented a patition, signed by 170 North Olmsted
Senior Citizens, requesting the establishment of a Department on Aging, separate from
the Department of Human Resouress.
?
