Council Minutes of 4/19/83 -4-
5) Rec Center has recently installed lighting in the Pro Shop and it is a very fine
10 improvement.
6) Cable TV Advisory CommQission met last Thursday and approved a set of cable TV
public access rules and regulations; Council wi11 be receiving these shortly.
7) Had reported on a number of discussion with the Metro Park Systems addressfng
the needs of Bradley Woods. Received a letter from Mr. Terry Reese indicating
that the first improvement that has been made is the resurfacing of the main drive
known as White Oak Lane. In future years, they expect to have a wildlife and
fishing pond in the vicinity of the shelter house and the addition of another
picnic area. Pond will have walking trails and numeraus access points to enjoy
the water's edge.
8) Ice Blossoms, 1983, will be presented May 6th, 7th and 8th; tickets are on sale
at the Recreation Complex.
Mr. Logan commented that he appreciates the enforcement of Ordinance No. 82-123
and the regulation of hours for drive-through restaurants only relates to those
that are wiChin:250 feet of residential structures.
Mrs. Petrigac commented on Mr. Petre's report regarding the legality of placing
city signs prohibitfng:cars cutting through at Best Products. Had a lengthy
conversation with the management; they have not complained about the cars cutting
through, and personally they do not mind. However, as a corporation, they do
not believe in putting up negative signs such as "do not" or No Through Traffic"
which are negative signs. Mrs. Petrigac believes she has a solution by trping to
notify the people who live in the subdivisions off of Dover Center Road; to make
them aware that it is private property and cannot be used as a cut-through.
Mr. Bierma.n, Chairman Recreation, Public Parks and Buildings Committee reported:
1) Madeline Brookshire has resigned from the Recreation Commission. Suggested
that a letter of thanks be sent to her for her service on this commission.
Mrs. Petrigac, Chairman Long Range Planning Committee reported: 1) Committee and
Landmarks Commission met jointly on April 14th to gather input from the eonmunity
as to what the needs should be and how the Town Hall should be used. Tha principle
suggestion made was that it be used as a meeting place for small groups, perhaps
under 30 people. It was also suggested that a small kitchenette be installed
similar to the one at the library. Mr. Leonard, President of the Chamber of
Commerce, suggested Town Hall could house this organization as is done in many
cities. Director of Human Resaurces, Don Copeland, suggested the basement could
be used for the food bank. Everyone seemed to agree that the building should be
restored to its original beauty. Long Range Planning Committee will again meet
with Landmarks Commission to make a formal report and forward recommendations to
Council.
2) Members of the Interim Council Committee were given blueprints of the Council
Chatnber for review and asked to furnish the Mayor with any recomwndations for
change.
Mr. McKay, Chairman Environmental Control Committee as well as Public Safety,
Health and Welfare Committee reported: 1) Moved Council have,nQ objection to an
F2 liquor permit for April 30, 1983, for the North Olmsted Chamber of Comcnerce,
North Olmsted Party Center, 29271 Lorain Road, second by Mrs. Saringer, unanimously
approved.
2) Parks and Recreation Commission met April 12th.
